Back on a hazy summer day
I watched you sitting on a granite stone
underneath the hickory tree
Seeking respite and solace
Quietly reminiscing
In complete solitude
Out of nowhere
A thunderous laughter
Broke the silence
Leaving me perplexed
And bewildered

I remember a caterpillar
walking along a sidewalk
You crouched down low
Gently scooping up the critter
making sure he was on a safer path, out of harms way
