Thoughts while trying to go to sleep: If Wolverine's skeleton is covered in adamantium, why are his teeth still normal?

Me: "I'm so tired. Why can't I fall asleep?!"

Meanwhile...

My brain: "The world is figuratively and, in many ways, literally falling apart and so am I."

@hankgreen.bsky.social There's something bothering me about something you said on the last AHA. Not that you said anything wrong (that I'm aware of). If the point of washing with soap is to, well, wash off bacteria rather than kill them, what is the function of hot water (also tauted to kill germs)?

Wish I could afford it. Good luck on the fundraiser, though!

Definition of LEITMOTIF an associated melodic phrase or figure that accompanies the reappearance of an idea, person, or situation especially in a Wagnerian music drama; a dominant recurring theme… See the full definition

As annoying as it might be, it is accurate to call character themes leitmotifs (source: www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/l...). It is hoity-toity af, though.

I’m really into the prophets these days:

Woe to those who make unjust laws, to those who issue oppressive decrees, to deprive the poor of their rights and withhold justice from the oppressed, making widows their prey and robbing the orphan.

Things that I technically don't need, but would benefit my mental health:

- FFXIV sub extension (expires on the 3rd or 4th of Feb)
- Crunchroll premium sub (currently free, but with ads and much narrower library)
- I dunno... chocolates and cookies and stuff I guess...

I would gladly take any assistance I can get, honestly.

Though I suppose, if I were to make a list:

- My abysmal financial position
- My deteriorating mental and physical health
- My worsening isolation
- My dwindling sense of hope for any improvement in my life or in the world in general
- Watching the US turn into a fascist dictatorship
- Etc.

Okay. Probably going to avoid long form writing in the future unless I've writen it out beforehand. Kinda difficult to keep track of what I'm trying to say.

... okay... where was I?... Right, so financial history sucks. Mental and physical health sucks. So on and so forth. Not sure where else I want to take this for now... tl:dr - I seem to never be in a position to take advantage of opportunities due to finances and/or health. And, generally, I hurt.
