Mister T Cartoon Intro
Daily Hanna Barbera
I pity the fool who's never seen Mister T (1983), produced by HB sister company Ruby Spears.
Here is the intro from episode 1. Steve Gerber and Paul Dini were on the writing team. The theme song was likely composed by Shuki Levy of Saban Entertainment

This is great! Did you watch an English dub of Ghidrah or a subtitled one of Ghidorah?
I grew up with english dubs, but all I can find now streaming is a subtitled version.

I'm not fond of 'franchise' either - seems too corporate, especially as things in the public domain - like Shakespeare - as franchises.
I love Peanuts - it was there everyday in my dad's newspaper.

And there were years in the early 1980s when Garfield was everywhere - especially calendars and on cars. Garfield just faded away in the 1990s, I guess.

What are your favorite franchises?
Do you buy merchandise?
Do you consume media about them?
How passionate / nerdy are you about them?

Star Wars rounds out the top 5, and about the only one with a sigmificantly diversified income stream - although still dominated by merchandise <I am writing this wearing a Star Wars tee I bought at Epcot>
Illuminates why a bad movie that sells merch is better than a good one that doesn't

Holy Pikachu!
So, one of my kids is currently into Sonic, which got me into thinking about various franchises.
Pokemon is the most profitable - by a good margin - and most of it from merchandise.
It also lets you see that the goal of all media is to sell merch, apparently.

Iran Daily: Supreme Leader - "US Will Fail Like the Cat in Tom & Jerry" - EA WorldView
Iran's Supreme Leader adds cartoon flourish to confrontation withΒ US, saying the Trump Administration will fail like "the cat in Tom and Jerry"
Daily Hanna Barbera
Something decidely serious today. Back in the first Trump administration, Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei - the one who was killed yesterday - compared US Iranian relations to Tom (US) and Jerry (Iran)

So, a rear view of a naked cartoon Homer Simpson - which aired on Fox television 30 years ago in prime time - is 'adult content' to Bluesky moderation.
That is beyond ridiculous.

I think Harvard (?) did a study and found, yeah, AI boosted what each employee could do - and them they burned out from the constant workload in a year.

I think there is a lot of skill in sculpting a 3D character totally on model of a 2D character. Probably pretty easy to end up in some uncanny valley off-putting result. Plus, each scene neds elements to look good as a View-Master slide.

By the way, the original dioramas were never preserved. The images can be scanned, but its laborious and each frame is very tiny and the film has often degraded (or dusty). Plus, commercial firms are wary of copyright and might not scan them. There are DIY methods though.

Joe was married to Lorina for 56 years. If you think comic book artists haven't gotten due recognition, Joe Liptak really needs more attention. He did most of the Disney sculpts and many Hanna Barbera ones for View-Master.
