Alaska lawmakers have overwhelmingly approved a resolution urging President Trump to abandon his plans to rename the continent’s largest mountain from Denali back to Mount McKinley. #ISTANDWITHDENALI

This is how the world views the US.

Australia calling out fascism, then adding that "Trump is a disaster for humanity and he belongs behind bars, not the oval office."

A four-panel comic. In panel 1, a wood frog stands on a pink background. The text says: "Feeling unlucky in love? Did you know that male Wood Frogs have difficulty perceiving members of their species? Here are some things they’ve been documented trying to mate with." "Spotted Salamander." The wood frog looks at a large yellow-spotted salamander, with a heart over the frog's head. "Cattail." The frog looks amorously at a large cattail flower or "sausage." "Green frog." The wood frog looks at a large confused-looking green frog. "Dead fish." The wood frog stares at a large dead fish. "Live fish." The wood frog looks amorously at a large trout. "Pine cone." The wood frog looks at a large pine cone. The final text says: "Sorry, there's no moral here. I just thought you'd enjoy this fact about frogs."

While I work on this year's valentine, here's last year's.

MapQuest is NOT renaming the Gulf of Mexico. Our maps are like grandma's Thanksgiving recipes — once they're printed, they're not changing. The Gulf of Mexico stays put on MapQuest.

Great advice, especially to avoid doom scrolling and to check info before sharing.

Makes me want to cancel my WP subscription - oh wait, I did that already a few months ago.

I teach college biology and agree with many of the comments here. I have smaller classes so can use in-class hand-written exams with essays that apply concepts covered and practiced in class. I also explain why we don't want them to use AI. Develop those critical thinking and self-expression skills!

Respect to @anntelnaes.bsky.social for quitting the Washington Post due to censorship over her on-point cartoon. More of this from artists and writers, please. Don't obey in advance, especially to the broligarchy.

Jimmy Carter was such a special man, representing the height of human decency. Today is a sad day. That we're on the cusp of living amid its polar opposite, is sadder still.

I would like to see more of this - native prairie plant buffer strips help the soil, water, pollinators, and birds.

The rules of the internet clearly state that when you see Tom Holland’s lip sync battle, you must re-post it.

I have shared the same bathroom with Sarah McBride on several occasions, and she never once made me uncomfortable. She did however help me fix my makeup. That congresswoman knows how to blend her foundation, which is more than I can say about Donald Trump.

A large chonky toad lit by camera flash

I'm not yet sure what I want to do with this account, other than non-doom scroll every now and then. Until I find my place here, enjoy this rather chonky toad. #amphibians #herps
