I'd probably peg it on the screen differences and a bit of natural variance, or eye fatigue if we're being honest because some of those colors are intense
Yeah there's an article linked to it and it's labeled as a game and not a lab-test. Game feels about right!
I honestly love when old electronics just refuse to give up xD
Ooh excellent, that's good to know, ty!
Prepping a few watercolor papers to get something new done for NorWesCon the first week of April. They're all sized for frames I already have on hand to make them easier to frame once I'm done. I also really, really just need to stop buying new frames and use what I have x]
The pinks and oranges got me too! And a couple of the greens, interestingly. Browns/reds seemed easiest
Hah, that's such a good point! Now I wonder how differently the test looks on my main color calibrated monitor I use for editing.
I feel like the health and quality of the screen would play a huge role in this test! Did you see just a bunch of lines that you normally don't see?
Yes a lot of head tilting was involved lol. I was looking at my screen at ALL angles. Up close, then far away, then up close again. Also had to wipe the screen x]
I see this as only a fun way to play a game of colors. Please don't be discouraged if you do the game/test and get a "bad" score. It really, truly, doesn't matter all that much. As artists we just like colors, so of course everyone is doing it!
Have fun out there.
I want to make something very clear about these tests: they in no way have any bearing on your skills or worth as an artist. Zero. What you see and what others see will always be a little different! Different eyes, different lighting, different ways to view (different screens, in person etc).
Some of the fuchsia colors were hard on my eyes too and I missed a couple of those
I feel like there's going to be a range of variance just based on the screens people use. I'd love to do a test like this in physical form!
I did the color thing! Looking at a screen was hard on my eyes, and I found that if I looked close for a bit then stepped back from the screen it would sometimes pop out lol. Not sure how accurate it is overall, but it was fun!

I just need Linux to run my printers and Huion and I'd be golden. I know my time is limited with the hard copy of PS6 that I have (and boy do I want to hand onto it for as long as possible) but I will noooooot be going to cloud everything. I'll disconnect from the entire internet first.
I have some time free if anyone wants to commission any bird art -

I rewrote the post in hyper speed, and it never has the same wording but at least I got it published!
Patrons can see the full painting process of my next PNW Dragon piece releasing this Saturday - along with first access to limited edition preorders

Making me considering things and what's worth doing lol
Seriously! It's this stuff that makes me think I need to leave that place. Squarespace would charge me $9/month to offer subscriptions on my site and Patreon takes (currently) $13. And they don't even have a discoverability system. So it's purely just a convenience factor for people already there
Omg I just spent SO long writing up a Patreon post, and it said it had saved the draft and it did NOT save. Seriously Patreon?
Thanks Stephanie! This piece even has a favorite rock on the left side x]
A new addition to the PNW Dragon series drops this Saturday on @everydayoriginal.bsky.social ! Here's a little peek.
Oh my, what's the location this time, and whatever could that dragon be looking at?

Already in con prep mode again after realizing that I have an art show in like, barely 3 weeks and I need more originals. And prints.
ECCC was very good to me, and it's also made more work for me xD
Hey good thing for catching it that early though! I mean, not the concrete part but the sight part x]
They would look really similar though in all fairness!
Yep that too haha
Oh nooo D:
Lol it's funny that I never questioned it for so long, but that's just kids brain I think, didn't know better lol
They also look undercooked, so maybe another round of world building. Plot can't stick when there's no texture or crunch
Ooh this is some good stuff. I love your colors and shapes so much
