A picture from inside the artists studio. There’s a painting of a tree pinned to the wall and there are drawings of trees pegged up and around for reference.
At the corner is the artist’s rocking chair that they use when thinking about what to do next with an art work! A picture from inside the artists studio. On the wall is a painting of a tree that the artist is working on. It’s on canvas and pinned to the wall. A picture from inside the artists studio. There are drawings of trees pegged up and around for reference. On the wall is a rack of sewing thread because the artist works predominantly with textiles. A picture from inside the artists studio. A few pictures from my studio (the den), my happy place. Leaving the tree picture to one side for now. I’m not happy with it so need to pause and revisit later!
I do love my rocking chair though, it’s where I think about what to do next with my artwork!

A watercolour sketch of a view across the Solway Firth. The view is from Skinburness, on the English side looking out over towards Scotland and the hills beyond.
In the Foreground there is a stony beach with little pebbles visible.

Revisiting some old sketches from 10 years ago. It’s a reminder that I’ve been doing this stuff for some time now. My work changed to more figurative art but I’ve returned again to the landscape. Maybe it’s because the world is so dark and it’s my little bit of resistance!

This is a rough sketch of the landscape at Powfoot in South West Scotland. It’s created using various methods of mark making from drawing, painting with a palette knife to smudging with my fingers.
The mountains are visible in the skyline, the water of the Solway separates them from the foreground. The foreground is a marshy green area where tufts of grass grow through a stony shoreline. I’ve been out on the Solway coastline doing some sketches. I’m trying to evoke the wild weather and nature of this area.
I must remember to bring a hat with me next time because it was so cold and windy I started to get earache. I confess I completed some of these at home later.

I agree and was really surprised by the move. I hope the folks @goodlawproject.bsky.social can challenge them successfully!

Image shows a poster where my ADHD umbrella is being shown. It’s part of Outside In National Show and is due at Christie’s in London over the next few weeks. This artwork is embroidered with images and text about my experience of living with undiagnosed ADHD for many years. Text has words such as failure, stupid and lazy. My ADHD umbrella is now on show at Christie’s London! I simply can’t believe little me has managed to get there!

The enlightened ones are often shamed, silenced and mocked. And you’re a man…… they leave the worst abuse for women and those who are trans!
But yes world leaders must be wondering when it’s going to be them next.

Removing peoples rights, banning books, silencing big corporations- including our BBC (who are not allowed to say kidnapping); removing healthcare from the most vulnerable and the list goes on!

I have no words sometimes for the jaw dropping behaviour of a man who frankly threatens everyone!

Then he indiscriminately kills people in the middle of the ocean.
Oh and then there’s all the kidnapping of his own citizens if they’re the wrong colour- doesn’t matter if they’re a citizen or not, they’re vanishing never to be seen again.

I’ve avoided the news recently, it sends me into meltdown!
For a man who wants the Nobel Peace Prize, I am lost for words by his behaviour!

He bombs people on Christmas Day, kidnaps presidents of other sovereign countries, threatens to take over other countries- even if they are NATO members!

Continued
It really helped me as I had been vomiting every morning for about 3 weeks.
I discovered it’s hormonal and not what you’re eating or drinking- if that helps.
Thanks.

Apologies if I’m being presumptuous here but are you of an age where menopause/ perimenopause could be causing issues?
It’s just I had the same problem and discovered it’s really common in women of a certain age.
Go to the docs and tell them about it. I got omeprozole- better than Lanzoprozole.

None of this will happen while the Labour Party are busy excluding trans women from their women’s conference and parliaments toilets! Losing battle here! Join the greens.

Phillipson questioning the logic of this argument needs to also question how parliament has acted too! They also implemented the ban in toilets for their own MPs and for roles that were gender specific. I only hope the outcome will change all this transphobic rhetoric soon.

I saw this post on Insta and found you on BlueSky. Sorry this is happening. Basically anyone challenging the ‘system’ is being targeted it seems.
Plus you’re what the right hates, queer and disabled. Sorry I can’t help more, I don’t understand the algorithms! We need Solidarity together.

It’s sad that poverty and poor education are linked and so is scapegoating. Anything to protect the super wealthy!
The super riches plan, blame the other and brainwash the poor into believing it. My heart bleeds for our country.

Take two from a previous post as my dyslexic brain struggles with spelling! If I’m going to be judged for posting something like this- the last thing I need is judgement about spelling!

An image of an English flag/ St George flag with a no entry sign over the top and the words ‘No H8’ (hate) written inside.

My counter protest about all the flags! I’m not even going to call them England flags because they don’t represent a country that I recognise.
Thinking about turning this into my next protest tote bag. ☺️

Has my dyslexic brain done something wrong here? Oh so sick of spelling things wrong.

A bit off centre I feel with this one.
It’s not God that’s the issue. It’s right wing Christians. They’re the ones I believe who spout hate and lies.
The God I believe in is a spiritual depth from within each of us that we feel and know. We need no bible or preacher. We feel it in the soul.

Keep a note of how your life is impacted. That’s where the diagnosis is important. Also please remember that you’re highly likely to have been masking / adapting and will have areas that you think are ok and they really aren’t. As a late diagnosed person I know this from experience.

This is a photo from an article in Scotnational. It shows a small fragile looking older woman being arrested by two very tall large police men. She’s holding a sign saying “I oppose genocide. I support Palestine Action”
Behind her is a female vicar who is looking very concerned for the welfare of the woman being arrested.

I hope Scotland can implement this.
We live in crazy times where criminals can become powerful presidents and little old ladies (literally) are criminalised for having compassion.
Those who risk arrest for having humanity, are my heroes.
Credit to Scotnational where I got this from.

Sounds like mast cell attacks. It’s an autoimmune response, often found in neurodivergent people and people with EDS (Elhers Danlos Syndrome). Folks who have no idea what you’re referring to here would just believe you’re lazy, crazy or making it all up!
You’re not, it’s a very real thing.

I’ve been thinking this too, I’m unsure if it would be taken seriously though! Maybe Netherlands?

A piece of artwork made from DWP paperwork. The paper is sewn together and there is an embroidered image of a naked woman on top.
The person is faceless - because disabled people have their identities removed emotionally, intellectually and physically in the process of trying to access these benefits. The person is holding onto a crutch and rollator Walker.
The artwork is called have I got enough points yet? It’s about benefits and disability payments being reduced.

I created this a few years ago. It’s even more poignant now.
