Phillipson questioning the logic of this argument needs to also question how parliament has acted too! They also implemented the ban in toilets for their own MPs and for roles that were gender specific. I only hope the outcome will change all this transphobic rhetoric soon.

I saw this post on Insta and found you on BlueSky. Sorry this is happening. Basically anyone challenging the ‘system’ is being targeted it seems.
Plus you’re what the right hates, queer and disabled. Sorry I can’t help more, I don’t understand the algorithms! We need Solidarity together.

It’s sad that poverty and poor education are linked and so is scapegoating. Anything to protect the super wealthy!
The super riches plan, blame the other and brainwash the poor into believing it. My heart bleeds for our country.

Take two from a previous post as my dyslexic brain struggles with spelling! If I’m going to be judged for posting something like this- the last thing I need is judgement about spelling!

An image of an English flag/ St George flag with a no entry sign over the top and the words ‘No H8’ (hate) written inside.
My counter protest about all the flags! I’m not even going to call them England flags because they don’t represent a country that I recognise.
Thinking about turning this into my next protest tote bag. ☺️

A bit off centre I feel with this one.
It’s not God that’s the issue. It’s right wing Christians. They’re the ones I believe who spout hate and lies.
The God I believe in is a spiritual depth from within each of us that we feel and know. We need no bible or preacher. We feel it in the soul.

Keep a note of how your life is impacted. That’s where the diagnosis is important. Also please remember that you’re highly likely to have been masking / adapting and will have areas that you think are ok and they really aren’t. As a late diagnosed person I know this from experience.

This is a photo from an article in Scotnational. It shows a small fragile looking older woman being arrested by two very tall large police men. She’s holding a sign saying “I oppose genocide. I support Palestine Action”
Behind her is a female vicar who is looking very concerned for the welfare of the woman being arrested.
I hope Scotland can implement this.
We live in crazy times where criminals can become powerful presidents and little old ladies (literally) are criminalised for having compassion.
Those who risk arrest for having humanity, are my heroes.
Credit to Scotnational where I got this from.

Sounds like mast cell attacks. It’s an autoimmune response, often found in neurodivergent people and people with EDS (Elhers Danlos Syndrome). Folks who have no idea what you’re referring to here would just believe you’re lazy, crazy or making it all up!
You’re not, it’s a very real thing.

A piece of artwork made from DWP paperwork. The paper is sewn together and there is an embroidered image of a naked woman on top.
The person is faceless - because disabled people have their identities removed emotionally, intellectually and physically in the process of trying to access these benefits. The person is holding onto a crutch and rollator Walker.
The artwork is called have I got enough points yet? It’s about benefits and disability payments being reduced.
I created this a few years ago. It’s even more poignant now.

If it’s any help here’s an extract from my MP letter: Of course, if no one in parliament is trans, if they can’t use a toilet, if they can't even apply to be represented; then who will fight for their rights? Who will be there when draconian measures are being implemented, and being misinterpreted?

Well done. I admire you for standing up.
Few MPs have integrity, but why is that the ones who do: - leave.
You leave the liars, the fraudsters, the haters and the yes men who want to make money out of their position; behind.
It’s soooo sad. 😢

More on EHRC consultation. The Equality and Human Rights Commission EHRC is supposed to support and protect people’s rights.
Their consultation is raising some serious and interesting questions!
Here’s one for folks.
And here’s how crazy, conflicting and confusing it is!
According to the new guidance and the law they plan on implementing, trans women will legally be men but protected under sex discrimination for women! This is because they are perceived to be women and it’s classed as ‘same disadvantage’.
So my response to them is:
How about a trans woman being strip searched by a male officer for British Transport Police as they now plan to do. So according to this it’s the ‘same disadvantage’ as if it was a non trans woman being strip searched then.
Also it’s the ‘same disadvantage’ when it comes to using women’s facilities and women’s spaces then!
Oh but no that’s not included. 😡🤦♀️😳
Any one else make sense of this?
More on the confusing EHRC consultation. If trans women are at the ‘same disadvantage’ as non trans women (women at birth) - shouldn’t that apply to strip searches, use of toilets and access to women’s spaces?
Or am I being daft here?

Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) consultation - Here are a few of my thoughts.
Every question asks, do I agree with the changes and if I don’t what would make it clearer?
Well let’s think about what can make it clearer!
This is about making it more comfortable for the majority who will say self defining terms are ‘confusing’; such as non binary.
Who want oversimplified definitions that ‘fit’ with their understanding because they have failed to grasp what diversity really means.
They hark back to a simpler past, where discrimination, sexism, racism etc was ‘normal’.
It’s not the governments or the EHRC’s responsibility to make people feel more ‘comfortable’ with the ‘minority’ groups and their self determined definitions.
How about making people comfortable with other people's differences?
Making things clearer is allowing people to make self determined definitions and choices and enabling the wider community/ society to be comfortable with that. That’s it!
My message to the government in the UK and the EHRC is:
Stop trying to fit people into narrow definitions and categories that you determine. It’s not your responsibility to define what people are.
It is your responsibility to help protect people from discrimination, harassment, hate and oppression.
These changes only add to this - they do not protect people.

Please take the time to complete our survey. Your feedback is important.
In order to stop this you need to be posting on the EHRC consultation too. Deliberately short, twisted questions designed to make folks believe it’s about safety and wanting to tighten and create more restrictive laws.

Thank you for contacting me about the recent Supreme Court ruling on the appeal brought by For Women Scotland.
We cannot lose sight of the fact that real people’s lives lie at the heart of this issue. Disagreements should not be exploited for political gain. Real equality depends on us upholding our shared values, such as tolerance and open- mindedness, while continuing to advocate for some of the most vulnerable in society.
On the 16th April 2025, the United Kingdom’s Supreme Court announced that it reached a unanimous decision that the terms ‘man’, ‘woman’ and ‘sex’ in the Equality Act 2010 refer to biological sex. It ruled that a Gender Recognition Certificate does not change a person’s legal sex for the purposes of the Act.
It stated that the definition of sex in the Act “makes clear that the concept of sex is binary”. It noted that “although the word ‘biological’ does not appear in this definition, the ordinary meaning of those plain and unambiguous words corresponds with the biological characteristics that make an individual a man or a woman.”
It is extremely important to note that the Court warned against reading this judgment “as a triumph of one or more groups in our society at the expense of another.” As it explained, transgender people are protected by the Equality Act – not only against discrimination through the protected characteristics of gender reassignment – but also against direct discrimination, indirect discrimination and harassment in substance in their acquired gender. These protections are available to transgender people regardless of whether they possess a Gender Recognition Certificate or not.
On the 23rd April 2025, the Prime Minister outlined the importance of the ruling bringing clarity and confidence to women, as well as to service providers. This clarity will enable the Equality and Human Rights Commission to update its guidance so that all services providers can act accordingly.
The Prime Minister outlined this Government’s approach:
“to support and implement the Supreme Court ruling […] to continue to protect single- sex spaces based on biological sex [and] ensure that trans people are treated with respect [and] ensure that everybody is given dignity in their everyday lives”
To read the full statement, please click here.
The UK Government has acknowledged the clarity this ruling brings and emphasised its commitment to single- sex spaces. I know Ministers in both the UK and Scottish Parliaments will now want to carefully consider the ruling in detail. The Equality and Human Rights Commission has advised it hopes to have a new statutory code of practice ready by summer.
I appreciate that this is an issue with very strongly held views on both sides of what has become an extremely polarised debate. It is essential that people in positions of authority, such as politicians, emphasise the importance of treating everybody with dignity and respect.
Thank you, once again, for contacting me. I always welcome constituents getting in touch about any issues or concerns that they have.
Letter to MP follow up:
My MP responded I’m sorry to say with a very bland statement about how they are following what the supreme court ruled.
Quote “to support and implement the Supreme Court ruling”
And it goes on 🤬😡
