My new figures (Northwing Miniatures) have just had their inaugural magazine review courtesy of Wargames Illustrated. Exciting times indeed! And a lovely surprise as I didn't know they were even aware of them.

For all their flaws I've had a lot of fun with these rules.

As most of my hobby stuff is packed away in anticipation of moving house I am working my way through some odds and ends of projects that I've not packed up to keep myself amused. So over the last few days I've finished painting and weathering this Vindicator tank for my 3rd edition 40k project.

Currently not, but I plan to do some in the future. The reason for that is that they require additional casting work to be done (as the bows will need to be cast as blanks) and it is much more cost effective to do that sort of thing when I have a lot of items that need to have blanks made for them.

They're rules agnostic. The numbers are based on planned pack size. I think it is likely that people will be using these for smaller skirmish games.

I find myself ending up either with a riot of colours, or all undyed wool...

Option 1 - More heavy infantry (probably with spears). 2 - More civilians (men and women), equipped with things such as Sickles and slings. 3 - Skirmishers (perhaps with helmets) with slings or spears. 4 - More assassins.

I am currently designing my second wave of Jewish Revolt figures. It will consist of 6 miniatures: 3 unique characters, and a new pack of 3 rank & file.

However, I can't decide what rank and file I want to do this time around so would appreciate some input. I'll put some options below.

Yesterday I spent some time photographing some more of my Jewish Revolt figures. I have now painted two of each, which was a very interesting experiment in terms of choosing clothing colours and so on.

I am thinking of getting the rules, is it worth getting the full bundle deals do you think?

All they want to know is if you are heretic, yes or no (both choices get you burnt at the stake, saying you're not just makes you a liar).

Thankfully I don't have direct experience of geese fighting 😂

I can also argue that they should have the Fly special rule 😂

This weekend I've been having fun finishing off a new Witch Hunter warband for Mordheim using a combination of Grey for Now Games' "Guards of Traitor's Toll" and @badsquiddogames.bsky.social minis. The geese are going to stand-in for war dogs.

My old office sat opposite that. Could be fun for a wargames event, although possibly a bit pricey.

Spotted this visitor to the Tyne on the way to work today - I think it would be a brilliant venue for a Mordheim event.

Due to moving house things are quiet on the Northwing Miniatures front (but we're still shipping if you want to pick up some rebels). While most of my stuff is packed up I've kept a box of small projects out to keep me busy. One of these projects was this Ogre, which I've just rebased for Mordheim.

Last night I popped down to the local club for another adventure into Mordheim. As well as an excellent game, we may have also made a new convert to the game, one of the other club members (who usually plays 40k apparently) showing a lot of interest in it.
