Yes. Came here to drop Monk in the chat and was surprised that I had to scroll far down to see someone else thinking the same thing.

Just finished I Think We’ve Been Here Before by Suzy Krause. The people of earth find out that the planet will be destroyed in two months time. Tender, heartbreaking, and strangely uplifting. But a bit disorienting as I shifted between the book and reading the news!

I have been trying a strategy recently where I say to myself, “what if I were a person who could just do the fucking thing?” Weirdly enough, it seems to help reduce some of the anxiety about doing the thing. It’s become a new mantra, and I’m doing more of the things. Of course, YMMV.

In case you are feeling overwhelmed, shut down, or unsure about what to do next, there are some really great ideas in this thread. And, as always, take deep breaths and find joy where you can.

Seeing so many people saying they don’t know what to do and I’m over here with a to-do list the length of the Mississippi River.

(I’m not judging. I know many people are still processing and that will take longer for some than others but also we have a lot of work to do so get it together.)
