The manuscript of the week is RIA MS 23 P 6, the Annals of the Four Masters. The Annals are a chronicle of Irish history from A.M. 2242 to A.D. 1616, compiled between A.D. 1632-1636 by a Franciscan brother and three laymen, now known as the Four Masters.

A handwritten manuscript alongside a blank piece of paper on a wooden surface.

The Manuscript of the Week is RIA MS 23 M 70, Leabhar Gabhála / The Book of the Invasions. The ‘Book of Invasions’ (‘Leabhar Gabhála’) is not the name of a specific manuscript. Rather it is an origin legend of the Irish people that exists in many variant versions.
