Tryin to learn Unreal’s GAS system. Still deciding if I actually wanna use it for my project or do my own simpler thing 🤔

Just doing a lil single-player thing so it’s prolly overkill, but I also want the practice for inevitable multiplayer projects I do in the future 🤔

The genre itself is cool, but I’m always a little wary of anything with “simulator” in the title. Feels like it’s a 50/50 of being bad asset flip or genAI junk 😆

I both love and hate game jams for this, deadline means it actually gets “finished”, but they rarely live up to my expectations of myself and that just kills desire to keep working on it.
Without game jams I can spend more time making it “good”, but I’m a massive procrastinator and rarely finish😭

First thought is Jak 3, you could slow down everything in the world but you, used it for platforming segments to avoid hazards and it was just fun to fuck with enemies while they couldn’t keep up.

Second thought is the Jedi: Fallen Order and Jedi: Survivor, which is just an enemy slowdown iirc
