My entry: 'Memories From the Present': 'Worn Leatherette...' Oil and acrylic on panel 32cm x 18cm Description: In a mostly dark image Andy can be seen holding a small rectangular painting. The painting: A large 3 piece sofa fills the composition. Wall, pavement and fencing can be seen but all is crowded out of view by the mass of the sofa. It's fabric is a leather like covering, but it's worn with cracks, discolouration and creases showing where the leatherette has de-bonded from the surface it should usually cling to. Dark, worn and expanded with moisture evoking a feeling of swollen discomfort. For me, this painting is mostly a mood piece, having said that many associations have multiplied with time. The third painting of a view looking across the ‘Empty Square’. (The Empty Square is the most featureless square on the ordinance survey maps of the Uk. It contains one pylon. It’s near Ousefleet in East Yorkshire. It’s often referred to as the dullest place in the UK). #painting #landscapepainting

This is a study of a Veteran Pedunculate oak that can be found at @yspsculpture.bsky.social map ref SE 28964 12677 It’s part of my Keepers of Time project that will be exhibited at the sculpture park from 15th February. The project looks at the ancient and veteran trees that can be found there.

𝐿𝑖𝑚𝑏𝑜: overpainting oil layers 9,8,7 (images new to old)

I still can't think of a suitable title, and I think the painting is needing something more so I'm not sure it's finished, we'll see.

I'm liking the very dark, muted tones and drawing-like lines.
