This is overt racism. Full stop. There’s no β€˜misinterpretation’ and no excuse. This is who he is, who he’s always been, and why he should never be anywhere near power again. And there’s a reason the tapes from The Apprentice have never been released.

Because client-side frameworks used to (and sometimes still do) load stylesheets at runtime.

In my opinion, it's always better to have static stylesheets that are loaded together with your HTML.

Only when you use the shadow DOM, because the "encapsulation" means you have to load your styles again for each component.

I love programming.

Even if LLMs (AI doesn't exist) get as good as the sellers say it will and my day job is just babysitting a chatbot, I will keep programming in my spare time.

Because I fucking love programming, and you will take my IDE from my cold dead hands.

Just my opinion.

A LinkedIn post from my profile, reading: β€œIt's a very simple equation, really: Science communication needs to be accurate, it needs to be authentic, and it needs to be transparent. If you're not doing it that way, you're not doing science communication at all.
In addition, *good* science communication is inclusive, it's ethical, it's sustainable. If you're not heeding these things, you're not doing science communication right.
Which is why I am profoundly shocked by ostensibly reasonable people promoting the use of chatbots for science communication. Their use decreases factual accuracy. It decreases transparency. It decreases authenticity. Those things are true regardless of *which* chatbot you're using and regardless of *how* you're using it. Plus, the tech is not sustainable, not inclusive, not ethical.
The promotion and use of Al chatbots is already damaging science communication and, if taken to the extreme, will be capable of quickly destroying it. Not through the rise of evil Al, but through ignorance on part of the users, rapidly destroying the trust that science communicators have been able to build over decades.
Everything I will ever publish will be written by humans, and by humans only. If science communication goes the way of the robots, it will go there without me.”

We are calling for an immediate stop to all purchases from Upper Deck.

Their total lack of communication is distressingβ€”so we call upon everyone to help us escalate.

No purchases from Upper Deck. No media coverage or posts of their games.

Upper Deck will only respond when it hurts their wallets.

And the thing is, as I told them: the fall of an empire is never the end, historically speaking, merely a change.

A transition, if you will.

And as is usually the case with transitions while the transition itself usually sucks, it's almost always a change for the better.

The risks of AI in schools outweigh the benefits, report says A new report warns that AI poses a serious threat to children's cognitive development and emotional well-being.

"The sweeping study... found that using AI in education can 'undermine children's foundational development' and that 'the damages it has already caused are daunting.'"

They include limiting kids' cognitive, social, and emotional developmen, and increasing inequity.

Thinking everything is doomed is apocalyptic thinking. It's no different than believing in Judgment Day, The Rapture, or any other doomsday judgment scenario that was always built from the ground up to push you into passive obedience.

Life.
Will.
Go.
On.

Get off your ass and make it worth living.

There is no room for dooming, imo. If better is impossible, life has no point.

We can make it better.

We will make it better.

If you don't believe it's possible, fine. Get the actual fuck out of the way of those of us who know otherwise.
