Worth having a look at the Hansard report of the decision to proscribe PA. These folks aren't protesting about mass murder , they are actually distracting from the genocide in gaza.

Something Yvette Cooper made clear in her statement, she did not say don't support Palestine she said don't support PA.

Lovely Ian, read the report of the decision to proscribe PA in Hansard. I think many protesters have been duped into thinking they are victims, (poor me, I've been arrested) and now the attention is being hoovered from the real victims in Gaza.

The people openly supporting PA were making a political point and knew the consequences. Every discussion/debate about these protests has been about arresting people, nobody has mentioned the desperate people in Gaza. Let's stop pretending these protesters are about Gaza.

It seems that many people haven't realised the truth about Palestine Action.

And some seem happy to both mislead others to think it's all about some paint on a plane, while purposefully conflating the proscribing with a ban on legitimate protest about Gaza.

But that is not the truth...

The very helpful @warrenoates1.bsky.social has posted the record in Hansard of why PA has been proscribed. It's worth reading. I think some of these protesters have been duped, others just sticking up 2 fingers to the gvt because of ideology.

@georgemonbiot.bsky.social for information. Folks saying "those poor protesters" need to have a read of this. Supporting PA is not the same as peaceful protest about genocide in Gaza.

My 2 pennyworth. Does this actually help people in Gaza or is it an opportunity to say "look at me , I'm hurting tooooooo". If PA is a terrorist organisation then right to proscribe/arrest. If not, it's a bodge gvt will have to manage. But there is too much ego in these protests.

Several thoughts come to mind as we are just up the road . Was it wise to describe the exact location? (More pressure on police and folks who live here?) Or an opportunity to stage a gentle protest - I'm imagining a local choir singing "We shall overcome ".....🎵🎵

Europe and Ukraine’s red lines: cease-fire before any other steps, reciprocal territorial exchanges rather than unilateral concessions, and binding security guarantees for Kyiv, potentially including NATO membership.

Not sure about overreaction, and but court case will clear things up . Not sure getting arrested helps people in Gaza one little bit and given there are many other protesting organisations, I do wonder about people's motives. Influencers like George Monbiot don't help, he's a permanent rebel .

So that stuffs the "let's just catch the train/hire a car and see where we end up " sort of holiday .

I feel very strongly about the genocide in Palestine. I also think that its possible that PA are not worth getting arrested for. Other protests are more powerful, and less "come on, arrest me then". People are not protesting about Gaza here, they are sticking 2 fingers up to gvt, with consequences.
