Like maybe there are opinionated assholes over different mediums or drawing styles, but idk I find most people who make art enjoy making art around other people doing the same regardless of skill level

In any real "drawing with other artists" setting, I've never seen anyone gatekeep or be negative about someone else, and if they did I'm pretty sure the other artists would give THAT person shit, it's always either internal insecurity or online BS (from people who aren't artists 99% of the time)

I tend to find that criticisms of objectification can oftentimes be misapplied in a harmful way towards adult content, but there are instances where it's valid, and part of my litmus is the fact that you can tell apart the stuff that views women as less than human because it SUCKS ASS

(But drawing stuff outside the "standard" is important towards this, to clarify)

To be fair I also think there's a distinction between "understanding and utilizing trope" and "blindly following trope", and avoiding the latter is important. Drawing "ideal body type" is fine, but there has to be an understanding that that's what you're doing or else it becomes toxic and empty

That last part is the shit behind so much stuff I hate, it's not just soulless and lacking any actual heart behind the horniness, it's the spinelessness that makes it so despicable to me. These companies wouldn't approach nudity with a 50ft stick despite clearly still being adult-oriented

I try to balance, exaggeration can serve a purpose within the context of something made to get an erotic response, because ultimately I'm not making porn as a representation of reality, but also a dose of natural dialogue helps it feel unique and human (which also helps its eroticism)

That doll looks like it's had its spirit tainted by the morbid events which took place in its vicinity, making it so that wherever it's held is haunted at night by a ghostly "Ohohohoho~" that then when you look in the doll house after hearing that the doll is missing, and GET OUTTA THERE-

In Possessor, the protagonist works in a "data mine", where they use headsets to watch through people's cameras, including watching a couple have sex, in order to figure out what kind of drapes they have (badum-tss)

Brandon Cronenberg may have been closer to literal with his satire than he intended

The manga IS better than the anime, as the anime only covers about half the manga without actually really covering what the manga winds up having as its message by the end, but the anime it still pretty dang fun and animates Higashimura's art style really well
