Theyβre not going to get out of this by playing semantics.
Sending detailed information about an upcoming military strike on unclassified channels (and even to the wrong guy) is wrong, reckless, and obviously a threat to American troops.

In today's hearing Radcliffe says basically "Nobody died because of the exposure of attack plans, so it's all good." Any member of the military using that defense would be locked up in Leavenworth soon after. #SignalGate

If an ignorant amateur doesn't understand what classified info is, it doesn't mean he didn't commit a crime when he shared it on an unsecured device. Our national security team is staffed by ignorant amateurs. #SignalGate

Satire alert. A math problem for Trump2: if Hegseth's fired this week, how many Scaramucci's will this have been?

One thing that can get lost in all this is that Jeff Goldberg knows much, much more about national security than the principals who were on that text chain.

Bennet: Did you know the Presidentβs Middle East advisor was in Moscow on this thread? This sloppiness, this incompetence, this disrespect for our intelligence agencies and the personnel who work for him is entirely unacceptable. It's an embarrassment

Buttigieg: Nobody in Elon Musk's family is at risk from the kinds of economic or security harms that are going on here. They think all of this is a joke or a game because these are incredibly rich, powerful men who, frankly, don't have to worry about the kinds of things most Americans do.

I'm a retired Poli Sci professor and I never make these calls. Members of the House votes almost 100% on party lines no matter which organized groups call. They vote Party, then economic benefits for their District, then donors. Some intern keeps a count of calls and emails. That's it.

Political folks, I often post commentary here. Former Congressional nominee when I was young and stupid. Got a Ph.D and taught all over the US and in Egypt at the American University in Cairo. Dissertation was on separation of church and state. Spoiler alert, I'm for it.
