I know I'm not alone in this, and understand that in the scheme of things, this feeling is such a minor issue. I'm just looking for advice on how to stop letting it take over my brain.

We are living in unprecedented times, through world events we could never have been prepared for. It's so heavy.

Sorry for the rant, but literally how tf do we carry on every single day when the world is on fire, there's an ongoing genocide, people are dying, and we feel so powerless?

How do we plan a wedding, how do we take a trip, how do we work every day, and just... move along? How???

My mom's text reads: Jamie, you won't believe this but Tyler's dad is on this ship?! Him and his wife. Our friends saw him by the pool so we talked for a bit. Tyler looked just like him... made me sad

The world is SO small.

When I was 20, my best friend passed away. He was only 20 too. His dad moved away a couple years later, and we lost touch. But my mom is on a trip on the other side of the world, and she sent me this message. 😭

I completely understand this feeling. I feel when folks share their lives in that way (especially as a chronically ill person myself) it creates a sense of community, and that's what we are all so desperately craving.

I'm not sure if one of them is Zuza, but that loss really hit and hurt. 💔

I don't want to stop being informed. I don't want to just scroll past things that make me uncomfortable. I don't want to ignore what's happening around me. It is a privilege to do so, and one I don't want to have.

I will be damned if the world takes my empathy from me.

I just want to say it's okay if it's difficult to function right now.

Staying informed and taking in all that's happening, all who are suffering around the world; it hurts, it's infuriating, and it feels impossible sometimes to just keep going like every day is normal.

We aren't built for this.
