Catherine O'Hara Dead at 71 Catherine O'Hara -- famous for her work in "Schitt's Creek," "Home Alone," and "Best In Show" -- is dead ... TMZ has learned.

It feels like we all lost a friend today. I’m gutted. I’ve watched her in comedy awe since the beginning. 😭 RIP Catherine O’Hara

The killing of Alex Pretti is a heartbreaking tragedy. It should also be a wake-up call to every American, regardless of party, that many of our core values as a nation are increasingly under assault.

Everyone, move your sadness and rage into action and call your Representative and Senators to vote No on ICE funding. I live in VA and called after Renee Good. These do-nothings need to know they’ll lose in November if they continue supporting this regime

This the build up of a plot to cancel the 2026 elections because we’re “at war”.

It’s true! I’ve been busy and offline all day, my daughter texted me about it and after the longest “Whaaaaaat??” I’ve ever uttered I had to call her to get the tea

Great essay! Facts are facts on the Jeopardy! stage, and host and contestants are civil with one another. Everyone wins!

Yesss! I’m such an amateur but I find my family is always asking me “what bird is that?” The Merlin app from the Cornell Lab of Ornithology is fantastic. It even has a song identifier that works pretty well!

Rhetoric is the art of persuasive speaking and writing. It’s been studied, practiced, and valued since Ancient Greece and Rome. Rhetoric is valuable in politics and law as it hones arguments and influences people.

Yessss. I just read the entire opinion. It is a fulsome rebuttal of the BS of the executive branch. Should be required reading by SCOTUS, Congress, and well, every American. Quoting Cooper v Aaron “Criticism need not be stilled. Active obstruction or defiance is barred” is 🔥

I just read the entire opinion. This needs to be required reading for SCOTUS, Congress, and, well, all Americans. Wilkinson sounded like he was channeling the founding fathers. About a perfect as you can get

I hope your local station isn’t affected, but if they said they only get a small percentage that’s a good sign. I was under the impression member stations would be most hurt by federal funding. My guess is individual donations will pour in 🤞

It may be true for an individual station, but not all of them. The rural stations would be the most affected.

Only for the HQ in DC. Most of the federal funding goes to affiliate stations across the country. The most remote/rural areas would be hit the hardest, because they have the least number of potential supporters and listeners in those areas may have NPR as their only source of national news.
