it means ‘don’t dock any ships’. But, there isn’t anything really innately funny about it. she just thought it sounded odd!

germans do NOT play around about their ancient grains !!
i looked online and cant find it anywhere!!
it says ‘amaranth: the power grain’ in rainbow letters with an illustration of a smiling grain 😭
a guy on the train in berlin is wearing a pin badge, of the sort one might wear in support of a band or political cause, but his is in support of the ancient grain amaranth

my german knowledge really broke down when it came to their questions on the finer points of paleontology and geology. ‘manchmal, wenn ein Tier stirbt, werden die Knochen zur Stein. Aber manchmal auch nicht’
‘yes, you did approach a random person and talk in german with them. no, it doesnt always work like that’
young children r so cool, last year on the beach in whitby two random german kids came up and started talking to me. only after two hours of looking for fossils with them did one ask why my german was so bad at which point i had to explain that not everyone speaks german well, not least in yorkshire
i made a starter back of beautiful and unique manuscripts you can browse online! (with links) for anyone that wants a good way to spend an afternoon :)
