so far the vibe is ‘futaba and ryuji suggested this to akechi and makoto and will live to regret it when they get way too into strategy about it’ but i only ever played it as functionally a singleplayer narrative crafting game so im flying slightly blind with the actual strategy parts of that
i MAY have calculated the exact version she’d be starting on(which would be 3.35. july 2016.) and opened the patch notes page for it Just To Have as i wrote this but GOD if you have any extra ideas for this silly side plot i would love to hear them

ffxiv is realistic. i’ve played ffxiv. deciding what kind of characters they’d all play in (2016, so only through heavensward) ffxiv is CHALLENGING
i just have to… pretend i understand mmorpgs! hm. or i guess be honest and understand them on a very surface level because im writing Day One of makoto playing. but i also have to decide which game theyre playing.
okay i figured that out and promptly realized i don’t want to deal with writing the fallout right now, so instead im giving up and actually alluding to the whole MMORPG idea i had. woe, video games be upon ye, crow and makoto
