Having a hard time believing this ides of March story, you're telling me senators did something other than send out fundraising texts
Can’t believe nobody wanted to read the articles nobody bothered to write
No, I am not worried about 'declining' birth rates, I accept them as post-modern birth rates, the birth rates that naturally happen once the conditions are set that children can be expected to survive to adulthood reliably and that women are allowed to be educated and become full citizens.
The perfect reply does exist.
Better article re: the #TargetBoycott
"The company confirmed to USA Today that it’s making no new commitments or reversals on its DEI policy."
and
"Black women across the country are reminding people that they started the boycott — and they’ll decide when it ends."
i cannot emphasize enough that you do not need to believe the stats on antisemitic hate crimes published by the adl and other orgs BUT you *do* need to understand the concerns of jewish people and other members of marginalized communities and acknowledge that they have legitimate fears
I actually got better when one of my clients called me out on it. I thanked him and started trying to be aware of how many cliches I was using. I very much doubt that anyone in the current administration has anyone in their orbit who would challenge them on lazy communication skills.
I started to do that towards the end of my tenure as court appointed counsel. I was just thoroughly burned out and being mentally lazy. Not sure if this is him checking out or just not able to figure out how to convey ideas without cognitive shortcuts. Probably a bit of both.
HOLY SHIT.
A dark money group, hidden behind a bunch of shell companies, is paying influencers thousands of dollars PER POST to attack @katmabu.bsky.social on social media a month before her election.
Thank you to the people who declined the money and went forward with this. So who's behind this?

Either reaction is sensible. Hell, I’m afraid going through Customs now and I’m a white guy born in the US. When I went through LAX last year they were obviously profiling. They are hassling people getting off cruises now, and that hasn’t been a thing for years.
Traditional Florida homes were built on supports so air could get under the house to cool it. You see that a fair bit in the Deep South. No slab, just dirt. Usually brick supports because wood on dirt is just feeding your house to the termites.
Now we have to desperately hope that it doesn’t hit $400, because if these lying incompetents say it won’t get to $200 we all know it’s going to soar past that mark.
I have been to Al Ein. There is an entire mountain range that this map just conveniently omits. The entire border of Oman is rugged. I think you would struggle to build a pipeline there. A road and tanker trucks? This is someone who doesn’t understand how oil shipping works at all.
I am fairly convinced that when it happens he will be venerated like Elvis, with dedicated fans, impersonators, and legions of true believers who think that he has simply gone into hiding and will soon return. I’m fine with that resolution.
Target I'm sorry that was a breakup not just a boycott baby.
Big announcement today, but nothing to convince me they are contrite or reinstating DEI. Nothing to persuade me they value trans people. Announcing the boycott is over is not real change. I’m still not going back.
The Corporate response is going to dictate whether I ever eat at any Chili’s again. I understand that they are franchises and that I shouldn’t punish a Georgia owner for things an Illinois owner does, yadda yadda whatever. Corporate needs to step up and denounce this or lose a customer.
One of the founders of the boycott wrote on Facebook that this article is total BS
Good. I’d like to read the complaint, I’m hoping they seek reputational damages for the harm caused by linking real authors to AI slop. I am wondering if we will see a denial or a quick settlement. Time will tell.
You give advice, outline the risk, give the client the worst case and the likely case, and then you sit back and hope they don’t make a terrible decision. Sometimes they do. If you gave your best advice, that terrible decision making is on the client. They will blame the lawyer they ignored, though.
I have been trying to tell you guys the overriding trait of Joe Rogan is that he's not very smart. He's not really our opponent.
There is a discourse happening that I can't ignore, but know that joining will bring me nothing but regret and unhinged replies. I'm afraid the only solution is a medically induced coma.
I haven’t eaten at a Guthrie’s since I moved away from Tallahassee. I remember them being better than Cain’s, but that might be nostalgia. Lots of fond memories of college era meals with friends at the Guthrie’s. I never did any heroine at Guthrie’s, though. That feels more like a Denny’s thing.
A tax barrister sued me personally for £8m for libel after we linked him to a tax avoidance scheme.
Today the High Court struck out the claim, granted summary judgment, and ruled it was a SLAPP. The judgment is highly critical.
Yea though I slowly shuffle through the valley of death so my oversized clown shoes do not fall off, I shall fear no evil, for thou art with me.
🏆Sloppelganger🏆⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I’m not picky about how it happens, but I do have some ideas about the best way it could happen.
