Illustrations on a whiteboard from three chapters of a language learner novel

Fun review: students tell me everything they can remember from chapters 1-3 of the book we’re reading, and I draw up illustrations and discuss what they said. Then I paired them up for a writing task, with the board illustrations remaining up as a scaffold. Worked great!
