Just to be transparent, when I cancelled my Paramount + account this week, it was an entirely financial decision. @paramountpictures.bsky.social

Thank you, David. My daughter wrote this Piano Trio and the recording was from a live performance at Bennington College. I think it suits the visual atmosphere of the film perfectly.
Coming April 1, 2025, a short film which I’m calling “A Wildfire Cine-poem” featuring music written by my daughter Lucia. lelandbuck.substack.com

French Senator Claude Malhuret:
"Washington has become Nero’s court, with an incendiary emperor, submissive courtiers and a jester high on ketamine... We were at war with a dictator, we are now at war with a dictator backed by a traitor."
The list of things Canada has hit with 25% tariff today is impressive. Almost every product from Montana is on the list: wheat, barley, beef, sugar beets, even beer and whiskey. Wonder if how long Montana farmers will hold out before they turn on Trump?

After watching about 17 seconds of Volodymyr Zelenskyy's visit to the White House today, all I can say is that America has just abdicated any and all respect it once had in the world. Trump and Vance are without any question the least capable leadership in our nations history.
I’ve retitled my Substack to better fit the zeitgeist. It is now called Lost in America. Here’s my latest offering open.substack.com/pub/lelandbu...

I have tested a couple of sugar solutions. Sweetened condensed milk and Camp Coffee syrup. The milk is best through 230 mesh screen.
There is a process in intaglio printmaking (plate etching) called sugar lift. You apply a sugar solution to a plate, then cover with ground and submerge in water to remove the ground where the sugar was. I’m basically screen printing the sugar lift.
It’s hard to do in a Bluesky post, but I’ll write something up and share.
I agree. I miss the days when people had their own websites, and used RSS aggregators to keep the pulse of things. It was easier to discover new things, new people, new ideas. Search engines are ad spigots, social media are thought-silos. I want a discovery engine.
