pretty much the textbook example of a great mystery adventure game: colorful characters, vibrant script, novel gameplay, the best dog

felt like it could have interrogated the justice system more, but I've been told DGS is where he goes hard on that

Part of me feels like Dark Souls wouldn't have caught on if the first game had difficulty settings. It'd be "cheap", "pointless", etc.

Arcade games had a relatively granular difficulty option via credit feeding and it played a big part in them written off as "button mashers"/"quarter munchers".

I've played a lot of 100+ hour behemoths across genres this year, starting to feel a little exhausted

there are a few manga and LNs I want to get caught up on before the year is out, but don't expect much from me otherwise

Super Mario World has an extremely eclectic art style whereby many enemies are drawn in completely different ways. Development files reveal Mario went through many stylistic changes; it is possible that all the enemies were made to fit Mario, but at different points in time.

it's not exactly a faithful adaptation of Wuthering Heights, but I enjoyed it anyway

really excited for Canto VII, I've heard a lot of good things about it

I finally reached the true final boss of Distorted Travesty 4

It took 170 hours to make it here

The only person who has beaten the boss so far took 30 hours

Multiple tester's controllers have had buttons (L1 button specifically) broken while playing the DT4 end-game content. I think the game is right on track to being amazing, then.
