Feeling like an item your character picks up and throws to distract guards in a stealth game

First You Write a Sentence by Joe Moran (narrated by Roy McMillan), I thoroughly enjoyed this book of reflection and exploration into the beautiful nuances of words, sentences, paragraphs, and the history of them. A self described "love letter to writing", as entertaining as it is though provoking.

Spinning Silver by Naomi Novik (narrated by Katy Sobey), this came as a recommendation from a friend, and I am only too happy to recommend it onwards. A tale of pitched wits against the Fae, and overcoming social prejudice besides.

The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas (narrated by Bill Homewood), a long one, but wow, what a journey. A winding tale of downfall, corruption, and satisfying revenge. There's a reason why this is a classic, and the gentle timbre of Bill Homewood presents the tale fabulously.

Roadside Picnic by Arkady and Brois Strugatsky (narrated by Robert Forster), An imaginative and bleak exploration of life in a fiction that inspired so many more. Classically "And then, somehow, it got worse", but no less enjoyable for the characters and imaginative worldbuilding.

Stephen Fry's Greek Myths (narrated by Stephen Fry), a charming treat that breathes the wit that Fry is very well known for into a retelling of Greek Mythology.

Hyperion by Dan Simmons (narrated by Victor Bevine), A surprisingly enjoyable Sci-fi Canterbury Tales. The different performers who play each part really brought the book to life!

Rivers of London series by Ben Aaronovitch, (read by Kobna Holdbrook-Smith), Modern Fantasy, mostly set in London. This was a delight to pick up on a whim, and I've made my way through the 10(!) main books.

Just to throw my hat in the ring! I've quite a few to suggest!

The Great When by Alan Moore (read by Kobna Holdbrook-Smith), Post WWII Fantasy, set in London, This is a literary pleasure and I can tell that he took great delight in extending his capacity to describe in wildly imaginative ways.

I bet every time an analyst predicts something so outlandish, devs at the studio immediately start brushing up their CV because they know someone's going to get laid off because big number didn't go up enough.

Just listened to the exchange between Trump (w/ JD) and Zelensky. America is so cooked for the next 4 years. It's beyond laughable. Literally cannot rely on America for anything at all, it's insane.

I got The Bakery Dragon for my nephew and they absolutely LOVED it! Days after gifting it to them, I was sent a video of my youngest nephew toddling along to fetch it from a stack of story books so my sister may read it to him. So thank you for gifting my family cherished memories 😊
