The right move. Outside of the three game purple patch from Blackburn to Plymouth he was mainly ineffective despite putting in bags of effort. League One is his level really and Eustace clearly knows he needs better players in if we don't want another relegation battle.

Had anyone checked if Weimann has a time machine? I could be easily convinced he was 33 when we sold him about 10 years ago

100% this. Felt like Dom was personally insulted by the timing of the sacking even though it gave him the best bit of reaction radio he had all year.

Even three in the first half was wild when it took about five minutes for NML to be treated and subbed before you start adding time on for their goal celebration and other time wasting incidents from 10 mins in

This is actually why football is the greatest sport in the world, but it's an unbearably cruel mistress at times. Most of the time, if you support #dcfc...

#dcfc limited Swansea to almost nothing today - in almost any circumstances, this is a fantastic away performance and you get something.
But performances are irrelevant now, all that matters is points. A big opportunity blown, six to play.

I had Oxford down before they went and took down a playoff hopeful in Watford. I think Rowett is probably just wiley enough to keep them up.

I'm mildly concerned about the momentum stopper of the international break for us, but the two games on deck are against mid table mediocrity who hopefully already have half an eye on their summer Dubai trips. If we take care of business against them I reckon we complete the impossible survival.

Interestingly, he is better odds to score today than Harness and Barkhuizen!

The Clough / Taylor statue could be placed on the pitch for 90 mins and have more of a positive contribution to this team than Harness and Jackson

I actually thought early in the season Yates looked decent, he seemed to have a nice link up with lots of little flicks to runners going beyond him. Now that all evidence of progressive attacking football has dried up it's clear that those flicks were simply to hide his horrendous first touch.

Both more attractive propositions at the start of the season than Derby. Oxford might struggle to recruit next season with Rowett but he'll do enough with whatever is at his disposal. Derby will fishing in a different pond to this season with Eustace at the helm, even in League One.

Since relegation is now all but inevitable, can we at least see what some of the kids who have been doing so well for the 21s have got. There is no possibility of them being worse than the shit on display today.

The lack of basic footballing ability and intelligence between our midfield and forwards is astounding. Not one that I'd be disappointed to see the back of at the end of the season.

There is a definite element of players not wanting to play for him, he was the direct reason for the departures of Bird, Sibley & Wildsmith. Beyond Cash & Nelson he failed to improve any of the other players at his disposal. Successfully dragged us down to his level, I guess thats okay for some fans

This completely misses the point. It's warnes fault the squad is full of piss poor footballers who have no right to be playing at his level, it's warnes fault the squad is injury ravaged and not fit for battle, it's warnes fault they're entirely bereft of confidence. He created all of the problems.

Yep spot on and tragically depressing. All time low come May when we go down (without any points deduction excuse), Hollywood / Disney vanity project Wrexham are go up and that lot down the road are in the CL π

If Eustace can keep this bunch of absolute shite up it will be one of the greatest managerial feats of all time. Absolutely bereft of confidence and ability.

Warne still managing to fuck us over after leaving. How on earth he thought Zetterstrom was Β£1.5m better than Wildsmith will never compute with me. A personal vendetta that has cost us so many points this season.

Just getting rid of Warne is a net positive already, a new manager can enhance that. If the players have as much of an energy / morale boost as me from this we'll see a whole different side to them tomorrow / Tuesday. Did a 7 mile run at lunch and feel like I could do another already with the boost!

When he previously asked PW if he believed he could keep Derby up there was no follow up to the "yes" answer probing what he'd do differently to his failures at Rotherham, no pointing out his woeful PPG record (3rd worst of all managers with 50+ games at this level). Needs Edd to ask the big boy Q's

Only if the right questions are asked and there's probing for passive/evasive responses. @domjdietrich.bsky.social asks good questions but often allows the interviewee to get away with non-descript responses and only plays devil's advocate to his own colleagues or to the fans, never to the club.

Oh come on, it's not a lack of desire that is causing changes of formation every game, desire isn't putting Ebou at CB when Rooney is on the bench, desire isn't snapping hamstrings left right & centre. The common denominator in the failings is Warne. Until that clown goes we are doomed.

Warnes history at this level suggests 1.18ppg is unattainable. Can't forget that his away record is probably the worst of all time, 8 wins of which only 2 have been in front of a crowd, now he can't win at home either. DC needs to get his head out of the sand.
