The Guardian's new cookie shit is a great example. The options are: consent to us tracking your browsing on our site and see personalised ads, or give us £5 a month to see un-personalised ads.

How about I choose option C - stop reading your website?

"Consent or pay" cookie options are bullshit. They make a mockery of the idea of consent (it's not consent if you can only say no by paying).

Surveilance capitalism is a pox; we've all been way to apathetic about it. It should have been dead on sight.

BlueSky is a bad site used by good people. That describes most social media sites. But BlueSky is egregiously unethical. Any of you can be disappeared for baseless reasons. Also a one to two month lag on enacting consequences is confusing and counterproductive. If you are still figuring out how to implement, okay, but engage your user base on that learning edge and don't act like this is all perfectly reasonable and fine.

Baseline tea consumption for me is 4 cups per day; mid-morning, mid afternoon (1.30/2.00ish), late afternoon (4-5ish), and mid evening (8ish). Some times, especially if I'm just hanging around the house, I'll basically double that.
