The entity tilted her head, confused.

“Well, I think you deserve a name too, and you look like a cat covered in ash and soot so I thought it might fit.”

He scratches at his neck.

“I mean, if you don’t like that name, we can think of something else-”

The dark being came closer to him, listening intently, snapping the nameless from his minor spiral.

“I … don’t remember the name, but I know it’s important to me.”

“It’s true, I know it’s hard to believe this fiery waste used to be filled with water but it was real. There were people and fountains and boats.”

He trailed off, realizing how much he missed that place and its beauty. He wanted to see it again.

The entity had a look of curiosity, the psychic indulged.

“This canal used to be filled. I remember seeing it. A city of water.”

The cat seemed doubtful, glancing at the ruins and fires that surrounded them.
