Saw #TheWeirPlay in Dublin last night. Simply incredible. Funny, spooky, with a deep message of hope and human connection. It was amazing.

And there's no dark like a winter night in the country.
And there was a wind like this one tonight,
howling and whistling in off the sea.

Yes I already have his complete works. But this “Globe Illustrated Shakespeare” is something to behold. Leather bound, annotated and just brilliant to hold.
Already inscribed, so I’ll have to add my John Hancock to it. This is something you pass down.

I’ve just started drinking tea. Only one I like is Earl Grey. And it really is nice. But I’d be a dirty liar if I said I didn’t love, when someone asks if I want tea, replying “Tea? Early Grey. Hot”

I was around 11 when I saw this. I loved Quantum Leap. I didn’t quite understand this episode when I first saw it. They spelt Sam’s name wrong. IYKYK.
But I get a tear in the eye and lump in the throat every time I see this. Every single time.

I finished #Stoner, by John Williams, and just wow. It was incredible. The story of a life but it totally enthrals you.
It’s one of the best books I’ve ever read. I can’t recommend it highly enough.

Completely agree. That’s why it threw me so much. Just seemed weird.

Having a conversation with someone and they mentioned when they get a hardback book, they throw away the dust jacket. Like it was the most normal thing in the world. Got me thinking.
I don’t throw them away.

Going to France for a few days. So needed some holiday reading material. Something light, relaxing. So I chose Solzhenitsyn’s “Cancer Ward” An allegory of life in the Soviet Union under Stalin, set in Cancer Ward 13 of a hospital in Tashkent.

I think so far it would be Survivor. Once I figured out how to read it 😂 I’d forgotten it has to be read backwards. And great cleaning tips lol. But he’s a fantastic writer.

I remember laughing in disbelief as I read it the first time. Then going back and really enjoying how he created those images and stories. It really is brilliant.
