Same - I’m having a lot of fun with the symmetry tools! I’m also enjoying this etching type of method, getting different effects with layers. I don’t think there have been any major surprises since a lot of it is similar to image editing programs I’ve used, but of course there is a learning curve

I don’t think it’s required for them to be so evil; I saw the approval ratings for other judges too and they vary wildly. (Which to me also indicates a massive flaw in the system 🤷🏼‍♀️)

Also for the record, he and Ken are still not getting along yet, and the suspense is killing me 😆 will they or won’t they. Omg. I’ve had cats all my life, but apparently was still wholly unprepared for the challenge of this intro process.

For the record, it eventually came to pass that we had not actually settled on a name. He is now Lumo

And sure enough, he disregarded all my medical evidence and doctor’s opinions, and said so in the official decision. Just used his own opinion instead. Utter madness

The judge who made the final decision on me had a case approval rate of 30%… I mean, get real, guy! Of all the ppl who claim disability, & go through an arduous years-long process to try to get the small monthly payment that’s not remotely livable, he thinks only 30% did so because they needed it?

Aarrrgh!! That sounds rough for sure.

The systemic disdain and uncaring in the government disability system is really atrocious. They’ll do just about anything they can to say someone isn’t disabled.

Oh yeah, govt agencies are the WORST. My experience is similar - chronic illness lets me function at maaaybe 25% of what a healthy person would, on a good day, yet the government deems it “not significantly disabling”.

I’m sure a lack of depth perception makes a lot of things harder & less safe!

It’s a paradox to try and balance that - but we owe it to ourselves and to everyone else not to grant them the ability to control our mindsets through bombardment with bullshit. If you are in a place to be able to separate mentally from it somewhat - it is not selfish, foolish, or petty to do so.

Yes, it’s a privilege of random luck if you’re not feeling the effects at your own feet right now. Yes, that leaves us with the responsibility to use that privilege to try and help.

But it’s also crucial to protect ourselves from prolonged stress.

That’s why I keep talking about self-care right now, and not letting this raging con-man and his puppeteer cronies take up too much space in your mind.

Yes, we’re staying informed; yes, we’re outraged. But it’s crucial to separate from it mentally somewhat too, in order to not be eaten alive by it
