A tricky thing about modern society is that no one has any idea when they don’t die.

Like, the number of lives saved by controlling air pollution in America is probably over 200,000 per year, but the number of people who think their life was saved by controlling air pollution is zero.

Oh man, that is not what that means. Slaves then were not the slaves America had.

Yes slave try ended after the civil war. Out prison system isn’t basically the exact thing and our beloved capitalism is totally pure now 🤡

As much as I’d love to keep the conversation going, I don’t agree that capitalism is something to be celebrated. It was built on the backs of slaves and systemic oppression. And Internet tangents are not a form of education. Going to get back to my actual education now.

And yet here we are, under a historical fascist regime in the making.
Look we learned in 2020 that arguing over the Internet was pointless and I have three midterms next week.

The Secret/not so secret royal families of America built the system with the intention to oppress the working class. They were quoted saying so all the way back in the early 1900s.

The point is, capitalism insists on zero breaks. Putting brakes on the system would be inherently anti-capitalist. I understand what you’re saying that it gave rise to some of the best conditions in the world, but there has to be a better system than this.
