The crazy wind storm knocked out our power and it's stayed out overnight more than 14 hours at this point. That's all the food in our fridge gone. We can't take showers here. It'll get to a low of 35° tonight. Power company can't promise even an ETA on restoration until tonight.

Quick mental health tip. Pick a hobby and do it slowly. Learning backyard astronomy has been so rewarding because I'm doing it mostly analogue. No yt tutorials on how to find stars, but reading paper books. Slows you down and forces focus (unlike a tutorial vid which can be passively absorbed)

Ahh goddammit ahh goddammit. Forgot that in addition to being the president state, Ohio is the astronaut state. Found the John Glenn astronomy park in Hocking Hills. I now have a date AND a location that's suitable for camping under a Bortle 4 sky. Chat I'm cooked
Ahhhhhhh shiiit Hocking Hills state park is a Bortle 4 sky which means it has decently low light pollution.... fuck I really gotta do this now
Honestly that might be the move. There's a designated dark sky reserve in Pennsylvania but I'm not ready to go that far from home just yet. But id drive to a state park around Hocking hills for such a thing
