This is awesome. One thing I haven’t tried but might be possible, instead of using non-expiring Tailscale keys, you might be able to have your TPM mint a JWT and use that as a federated credential with tailscale. Probably depends on how old your laptop is whether or not it has a TPM

There is useful inspiration for approaches here from TPMs (Trusted Platform Modules). Not a privacy expert but I think the capabilities are provided by TPMs for the key holder to choose to attest the hardware class, or to self-identify as a specific device. Snippet here from a free book on TPM 2.0
