Icefields Parkway, Canada, 2018
Mountains, Moose, Eagles, Lakes, Waterfalls, and everything you’d ever want to find outside
The Salt Cellar on Derwent Edge
You don’t see it from the main path, unless you know what side path to take. But you can see it from far away or from far down below, 250 metres above you. It’s one of those places sculpted by the wind and weather.

Peak District, UK
Chasing light
I was getting caught by darkness as I went south alongside Ladybower Reservoir. But as I moved fast, the water got still, so I took photos. By the end, the sun had gone, the moon had shone, & the clouds and stars were wandering along

The two photos I didn’t post from Norway yesterday. oddly, these may have been my favourite moments & people. Those who were silent, & just watched the clouds roll through the Fjords, beneath a grey heavy sky, with only the sound of rain

Norway 2018
Aboard the @norwegiancruiseline Jade, approaching Svartisen Glacier. Clouds hanging low overhead, a gentle rain catching on the breeze. I spent a lot of time on Deck alone, due to the exposure of the sea.

Wandering around Ladybower and Howden reservoirs
Here, I met an American Forces Veteran, now a tree surgeon. One of those people really full or life and energy, even a little later in life. He had great stories of his times

St Michaels Mount, Cornwall, UK
A quiet village on an island that makes you think of castles in the sky, isolated occasionally by the tides, with a strip of sand all the way to the local town, whispering waves and warm winds.

The Peak District has a wide variety of wild places. These were taken within one day, down below and high above, with a hundred more photos that could easily show how beautiful it all is
Is the storm coming, or going?
Taken on Cromer Pier, Norfolk, UK. I was on the edge of the storm. A few gentle drops upon the face. Sunlight bursting between a dark sea & the swirling dark clouds above. People coming down from the town to see the view & the sunset, joyous at the contrast & colours
When it rains in Edinburgh, it’s still a beautiful thing. This was from wandering the streets, the castle and one of the Churches, all within ten minutes of each other.
Definitely will go back one day. When it isn’t raining in Scotland…
Not a new photo

Organising your photos means you find photos you remembered, but never stumbled across again
This was taken heading towards the lighthouse north of Robin Hoods Bay. Made me remember the times my Grandad used to fly from Cromer Lighthouse out to the lightship

Photos from the @lakedistrictcumbria I only went once, and always said if i had the money, i’d live there. Especially after seeing so many winter photos from there. The more you see of it, the more it seems like a wonderland
These are from Derwent Water

It’s still cold in the UK. These were from yesterday. Even the Robin was thinking about robbing me for some biscuits
All that said, I much prefer real winter, cold, snow and ice, to mud. The land sparkles in the sunlight as the rising sun twinkles upon the crystals of ice

The Great Ridge above Castleton, in the Peak District, UK. Photo taken last year, when the snow arrived, and I had it almost all to myself early in the day

Snowy scenes from the UK. This was Georges first snow, and he loved it. I had no trouble getting him out, but it definitely wasn’t as easy to get him back!
How did 2025 start??
George threw up just after midnight. On a mat at least
The in the morning I had to take him for a long walk in the rain and the mud
Then I fell down the stairs (just a few bumps, not a somersault)
He is fine though 🤦🏻♂️

I could post so many nice photos from the last 12 months, but these are all from around @peakdistrictnt (with the exception of Matlock in the snow). You could spend a lifetime in this park, and always have something new to see every day.

Happy NYE and 2025 to you all
Photos from @sheringhamparknt I think the two photos with trains in are taken from the same place, the Gazebo viewing tower to the north of the park. Everyone I meet up there loves the view, especially when the @northnorfolkrailway steam trains are going past.

Maybe one day I’ll go back
Venice from a long time ago. Last family holiday, first holiday with a big camera. Felt quite self conscious wandering around with my DSLR, but if I went back now, i’d come back with thousands of photos. Photography taught me to see the world differently

Christmas close ups
Definitely not all taken today, (its still dark here), but hopefully Santa got close up to your home, and you’ll wake up to whatever it is that makes Christmas special to you. Merry Christmas to you all
I know it probably won’t be a white Christmas, but I can still wish for one.
This was Matlock earlier this year, when I got my new @fujifilmuk X-T5 and dashed out in the snow. Sadly my boots leaked, but I didn’t care. Snow days are too rare

Whitby at night.
Always worth a wander during the day, but also at night, as the lights paint the harbours all the different colours. Fresh breezes roll in from the north sea, as the sun hides behind the cliffs to the north, and the voices of the people start to echo through the streets
I finally saw the excellent @Deadpoolmovie Deadpool and Wolverine, and remembered some of it was filmed at @holkhamestate
It was a scene like this that got me into photography. A low sun on a clear day at Cromer, Norfolk, almost touching the horizon on a summers day. Not long after, I went out and spent what I thought was a fortune on a camera. Just a little point and shoot thing, but it gave me a start.

These photos are really old, but I hope the Tigers are still with us. I remember watching one, and it watching everything else. There was definitely a lot of intelligence going on behind those thoughtful eyes

British Museum Symmetry from a long time ago. I had wait as long as I could to get no people in the photos, but people enjoying themselves is just as nice a thing to see as the exhibits

Saltburn-by-the-Sea Pier
A great place in its own right, with the unique carriage system down the cliff o to the pier, gorgeous open beaches and skies, and a great place to start a hike south along the Cleveland Way Trail

Thank you Bee. You're absolutey right! Especially as snow is getting rarer. I just wish the freeeeeeezing cod wind had been a bit rarer too 😉🙏
The @peakdistrictnationalpark in 8mm APS-C in the snow. Makes the world look a little different.
Winters first kiss has left now, to be replaced by a wet wind from Storm Bert. I got into the shower to get dry this morning 🤦🏻♂️
