I'm reminding myself that the celebrities won't save us. Only we can do that.
Way more disheartened by this than the Oscars results themselves.
And I don't want to pin this just on the OBAA folks. As far as I saw, no one said anything about ICE, the kidnappings, or the concentration camps. Silence on all of those topics.

This analogy happened to me in real life. It was not fun.
Yes this. I never felt like the timely political parts were the core message of OBAA, it was coincidental timing which suggested something more insightful but it isn’t a political film that has something very lasting/concrete to say re:fascism imo, if it did they’d have centered that tonight.
I'm 1 for 6 in the 2020s. Not great!
Folks at OBAA could have said something meaningful in the acceptance speech. It would even dovetail with the central premise of its film.
Nothing.
Not a single person said a damn thing about ICE.
Lol the crowd wanted Sinners.

Michael B Jordan proving he can win without Scottie B Pippen.
Really glad that Jordan won that award.
It would be so incredibly meta if Chalamet goes from the frontrunner to losing to the hot gangster identical twins, which sounds like a pitch for a Marty Supreme sequel
“vamos maneirar um pouco o discurso político, Javier”
“ok”
So far only the documentarists and the international film makers saying the things that need to be said at this edition of the Oscars.
hope more people get to see secret agent after tonight
Yeah, loved Max Richter's work in Hamnet, but Ludwig Göransson's score in Sinners was the only way to go for this award.
I met Ryan Coogler at TED in 2016(?) (and I said "you got something right in Black Panther" and he was all "excuse me?" and I said "I map and ancient sites from space+ there are dozens of unmapped ancient civilizations beneath African rainforests. So core premise of BP was 100% right.... cont
Agreed on order and on point 3.

Bluesky really hitting on all cylinders right now because you can tell exactly what’s going on in both the Oscars and the World Baseball Classic
We arguably haven’t seen a film maker of this range since Spielberg.
Maybe it's just the circumstances of the order of awards, but OBAA was picking up some wins and we needed Sinners to get onto the scoreboard.
It felt like Sinners needed to win that Original Screenplay Semifinal to have a chance in the Best Picture Final.
Congratulations to Gregory Bovino for his first Oscar
Ties are good and they teach us important lessons about life. Not everything is win and lose.
I love a good draw. Honestly, think they should happen more often.
Don't know how you pass up Sinners with the Casting award.
Frankenstein deserved costume design. The costumes were basically another character in the film.
The power of "I Lied To You" was as much from how Coogler arranged that sequence as for the song itself. That staging did an impressive job of recreating that vibe.
