I love Jeremy Bowen in "I'm too old for this shit" mode #wato
It’s being said a lot that the shadow of Iraq is hanging over Keir Starmer and the Labour Party during this Iran crisis.
It absolutely should. What’s remarkable is how little much of the British media and the rest of politics seem to be thinking about it at all, or learning its lessons.
Watch this twice. Once for Hannah's speech and a second time for Matt Goodwin's face throughout it...
He also somehow manages to look like an evil version of Mr Bean, as a German friend just remarked (apologies to Mr Bean)

It’s a mark of the poverty of thought of these characters that they have to take a brilliant writer’s imagination and use her novel as an instruction manual. And only after it became a TV series because they don’t read. They can’t even invent their own fascist dictatorship.
All the men (and a few women, let’s not forget those) did, centrists and right-wing populist alike. It’s just that there are no consequences for the latter. It’s quite clear that Epstein had no preference re left/right/centre. He just hated women and wanted to burn it all down.
In Europe, the publication of the Epstein files above all helps right-wing populists. Which was probably the plan. www.stern.de/politik/ausl...

Any Australian parents here who would talk to me about the social media ban? Is it working? Is it effective?
“We’ve invented a magic computer. It uses all of the earth’s resources, we’ve spent trillions on it and it’s the sole growth area of the US economy.”
“What does it do?”
“We were hoping you could tell us.”

Hi Patrick, we spoke at the Labour Party conference last year - I invited you to give a briefing at the Foreign Press Association, you were interested. Could you DM me to discuss further? I seem to have an old email contact for you. Thank you!
it has helped me tremendously to think of Donald Trump as someone whose greatest success and primary achievement has been as a reality TV star
like reality TV, there are a lot of sudden shocking developments and rule-changes. the only principle is: keep it moving, keep eyes on us.
Haven’t they long passed the point of ‘not doing too many insane things’ though?
Hello Arthur, I read your very interesting substack on Venezuela. Would you have 30-40 mins this week for an interview for stern magazine? Thanks, it would be great to hear!
Trump is probably focused on the money he wrongly thinks he'll make from Venezuelan oil. But he's not a details guy and nobody has thought through the details. Essentially, the US has taken over Venezuela by mistake. Stranger things have happened, but not many.
