The Trump admin’s cruel disbanding of the Pediatric Brain Tumor Consortium My 12-year-old son died from brain cancer. The defunding of the Pediatric Brain Tumor Consortium will deny treatments to children like him.

Jewish organizers are increasingly confronting Trump: β€˜The repression is growing, but so is the resistance’ As the administration continues to exploit antisemitism to arrest protesters and curb academic freedoms, more American Jews are saying β€˜not in my name’

This is amazingly courageous and principled. Jewish people in the US were at the forefront of the civil rights movement, and so many are standing up again against current injustice. www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025...

Is this in response to his Op-Ed in the New York Times? Are there specific points you disagree with?

2016 was shocking. 2024 was devastating to my faith in the underlying decency of the American voter. To choose the same venal, boorish, malignant, incompetent character a second time…

When there is an established and effective treatment, any proposed new treatment MUST be tested against the standard of care. Otherwise, the trial is unethical. Placebo control is NOT always the answer.

That’s quite ad hominem. I’ve never been anywhere near Liberty U. No less a rationalist than Stephen Jay Gould said that science and religion are non-overlapping magisteria, one focusing on fact and the other on values. And please check your dictionary for the spelling of β€œdenigrater” (sic).

You can create your own meaning, for sure. But when you’re pushed to the wall, how confident dent will you be in it and how much comfort will it afford you?

I have a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology and am a practicing pediatric hematologist/oncologist. Science has nothing to offer to the devastated parents of a dying child. Theodicy is the greatest challenge to the idea of a benevolent and omnipotent God. But at least religion offers the hope of meaning.

Trump Officials Blame Mistake for Setting Off Confrontation With Harvard (Gift Article) An official on the administration’s antisemitism task force told the university that a letter of demands had been sent without authorization.

Really? The fact that he’s standing up against a constitution-violating bully and grifter means that he wouldn’t want a Jewish player on his team? You can not be serious!

Reminder: the First Amendment protects everyone who resides in our country. It doesn't matter if you have a green card or a visa or if you're undocumented. The Supreme Court has repeatedly affirmed that any person residing in the United States, regardless of status, is entitled to 1A protections.

Powerful and moving! A reminder that we are all a small part of the continuum of human existence, and that the physical imperfections we acquire as we age are our honourable battle scars.

Used to be β€œImmigration and Naturalization Service.” Now it’s β€œImmigration Control and Enforcement.” Nice, for a country built and being built by immigrants.

With respect, I disagree. There is a place for protest, but that was not it. Unless you approve of Joe Wilson’s yelling, β€œYou lie!” at President Obama way back when.

I beg to differ. I have no time for Donald Trump, but there should still be a place for decorum in events like this. Remember Joe Wilson shouting β€œYou lie!” at President Obama? Do you approve of that too?

So many people choose to downplay how terrifying the first several months of the pandemic were. The death rates in Wuhan, Italy, New York; freezer trucks as morgues; medical students being graduated early to care for sick patients. Yes, we overreacted, but we didn’t know what we were dealing with.
