Lead image: Beefy in full tweed, waxed jacket and deer stalker. Smoking a jazz cigarette through the barrel of a shotgun. Couple of dead pheasants slung over his shoulder. He's winking. Viv Richards in the background beating David Gower with a cricket bat.

Deeply alarmed to see that in the background of that lead image they do not appear to have sorted the books according to the colour of their spines! May have to write a strongly worded reprimand.

Possibly even an understatement. Strap in!

Even accounting for bias, this set was fucking superb. I have a long train journey on Wednesday... I might even have an edible now.

Just listening now, it's a fist clencher! Gutted I missed it.

Bloody John making things better again. A terrible era for daytime 6M back then, the epitome of rockist NME old guard nonsense. Landfill indie on hourly rotation + "we've got dance music covered because we play The Chemical Brothers once month."

FATM ("Stop shouting!" "I CAN'T!") emerged while I was working at 6M, mainly due to being managed by one half of the ultra posh DJing duo who had a show at the time. Can't remember her name but she would periodically march over to my bit and bark the equivalent of "Fetch me my jodphurs!" at us.
