you upgrade by finding and literally inhabiting the body of a better truck, so you can swap between bodies at will as long as a functional chassis is within range, kinda like that weird Driver sequel

after you gain enough XP, you can temporarily inhabit multiple trucks at a time

one of those truck driver simulator games where it's revealed that the truck itself is sapient and that you're playing as the actual truck, not a driver, and you have to avoid capture from an anomalous research group by driving as normally as you can during deliveries
