Also I wish people got that a staple to me could not be a staple to you. The definition of a capsule wardrobe isn't always neutrals and white button-ups paired with light wash jeans
I could also rant about how much I hate those "regret buys" "things that we're leaving in 2024" videos... It's the opposite of sustainability
Like no babe, I won't stop wearing my biker boots when they stop selling them in fast fashion shops cause they make sense with my style!!
Trend videos disguised as wardrobe essentials and, because they don't really have a personal style, can't differentiate the 2.
Which is also why those "capsule wardrobe" videos (that I absolutely hate) are so popular, they sell a successful formula or cheat code to be seen as stylish when you don't even have style. They're palatable. The problem comes when the same people that are being sold this formula come across
And I would add that the reason this happens it's because the vast majority of people have been conditioned to see fashion as purely utilitarian. Fashion has been labeled as vapid since the dawn of times so a lot of people never took time to develop a personal style
