Oooooh I'll think about it
There's rumblings about Wilds coming to Switch 2, and I'm more likely to play it on an downgraded stable portable version than a PC
If Steam reviews were excellent out of the gate, I would have played already, but my PC isn't that advanced, and my Demo was worryingly bad
Day 1 with #PokemonPokopia
- storage is gonna take some getting used to, due to the lack of connected storage
- haven't tested yet if there's timetravel by changing the clock-- haven't seemed to need it yet
- game is lovely with surprises and SAUCE; they had time to cook
- Pokemon Life Sim = GENIUS
I felt a bit overwhelmed at the expansiveness of Stardrew Valley, so Pokopia was more appealing in the way mechanics are introduced
It's also quite faster than Animal Crossing's intro
despite both games using real time, Pokopia's progression is mostly quest-based than time-based, up to a point
A lot of Gen 1 at the start, still good showing from Gen 2 & 3, later Gen reps feel like pleasant surprises
I suspect that the more I progress, the more later-gen Pokemon we'll find
but all in all, it still feels fresh to me, because we haven't seen them interact and talk quite like this before
Switch 2 too?

if anyone has any questions or curiosities about Pokemon Pokopia, you can ask me about the first 5 hours or so
I just played 5 hours of it today~

Pls like or I'll cry, I have many games to gush about

non-spoilery things about #PokemonPokopia that made me smile during my first few hours playing:
- all Pokemon use they/them pronouns (how very Mystery Dungeon)
- Pokemon seem to have personality types like in Animal Crossing, each type has a shared mood / vibe of dialogue
- surprisingly melancholy

I wouldn't recommend this to folks who prefer faster gameplay and quick payoff
There's a lot of things that will take time, not just building stuff, but crops taking a day to grow, and other Dailies
It comes out at a different time over the eastern hemisphere yeah!

The game is really full of life sim elements, increasing your affection / relationship with your fellow Pokemon, rebuilding parts of society, and discovering some secret stuff
Real-time clock as well

[I won't post Spoilers, but some consider even descriptions of gameplay as spoilers~]
The main thing I've loved about my playthrough so far is how much they lean into the post-apocalyptic vibes...
Pokemon Pokopia screenshot: Charmander asks the Ditto, "Hey you see the moon up there? Where does it go during the day?"
I've been playing Pokemon Pokopia,
and I'm gonna have a lil thread here to post my thoughts about it
Feel free to turn off notifs, or mute #PokemonPokopia ⚠️ if you prefer not to see anything about it
so far, based on what I've played as of typing this, I adore this game 💕💕

It's wonderful uwu
I would have put it in my top 10, but I decided that I preferred to highlight things with *more* gameplay
It's still such a unique experience though, and I've recommended it in the past too :D
Eyy! :D It's good to be open to change,
the list doesn't have to last forever, I also put "as of March 3rd 2026" on my list
Because I can anticipate games this year that might take room there
Oh I adore Papers Please ^^
I almost added it to the Top 10, but I decided that it was quite a bit heavy, even for the fictional subject matter
But it's Top 20 for sure
I know right!! I had 40+ games to choose from, and it took quite a lot of thinking to narrow it down to 10
but that was the fun of the challenge for me~
just 'cause they aren't in Top 10 doesn't mean I don't love them
they could be Top 25!
It was important for me to make the distinction between "Favorite game" and "Changed my life" game
because not every Fave game has to be a life-changing emotional story
sometimes Favorite game is "Match the jewels and they make pretty sound effects" and there's no story needed to compare

Celeste is a game that fundamentally changed my relationship with failure
I was more open to embracing being bad at games and failing at them, because Celeste gave me the tools to face it
AND it also taught me to get good at 2D platforming :D
if it were a Top 20 list, Celese would be there
so my "Favorites" list is different from my "Changed my life" list,
although Animal Crossing New Horizons, Mad Rat Dead, and Monster Hunter Rise would be a crossover onto the 2nd list too
However! Just because a game changed my life doesn't mean it's also necessarily one of my Top 10 favorites~
The font is quite pale for how bright the background is, but I can still read it

I felt confident about my Faves missing certain massively influential games in my life...
because I also made:
Games That Changed My Life & Influenced my Tastes in Art
They don't necessarily fit my Fave criteria, but they undeniably changed my life <3 (not a complete list~)

I typed it into LibreOffice and used a fun font, then changed the colors :3 and took a screenshot
the font is called 'Super renewables'
it's the built-in online from X & Y that was copied into ORAS (let the games seamlessly connect)
when going online on PSS, you'd see people from all around the world who were also online, with custom messages, trade & battle requests, and O-Powers, which let you Buff people's adventures from afar
