It brings me some solace to know that whatever's happening down here, there are still some absolutely incredible human-made and human-driven robots wandering around Mars, looking at cool rocks and dirt and sending us pictures just because we're curious about planets and our own origins in the cosmos
From tonight's live stream.

Thanks to the brilliant @inkcapjournal.bsky.social I saw this. Felt such solidarity with Sheffield Tree Campaigners. Glad their sustained efforts have been somewhat recognised. Don't we want to live on healthy, leafy, tree-lined streets? Love to Sheffield, the most wooded, greenest UK city x
why are bees doing brutalism
We don't let Colin the House Dalek fire his energy ray in the house, but we've compromised today and given him a sparkler to celebrate the news that Masterplan 1 and 3 have been returned to the archive.
Thank you @filmisfabulous.bsky.social & all involved.

This is a cliff on comet 67P/Churyumov–Gerasimenko.
It's about 1 km tall.
If you jumped from the top, it would take you 47 minutes to reach the bottom, and you'd probably be OK.
Just incredible shoebill awareness-raising from this Hong Kong teens' magazine
where ARE all the trans people who aren't tough and courageous? what happened to them?
Life lately
Long shot, but does anyone know of any regular art/craft/illustration type evenings in Bristol? Something not too formal, a chance to hang out with people as much as anything. Asking (genuinely) for a friend.
Yes, hello, is that God? Yeah, hi. I have a complaint. You gave me this brain that’s designed for finding berries and avoiding lions and now people are ‘just circling back’ to see if we can ‘move the needle’ on ‘key initiatives’? NONE of those things are berries.

The reason the middle-class media has not reported Hannah Spencer being attacked by right-wing transphobes is that it needs to preserve the nice, coffeee-round-the-kitchen-table, middle-class view of transphobia, not the thuggish fascist reality.
- Never look back, only forward
- Don't be boring
- Do it for the story
(If you're unsure if you should do it, do it if it'll make a great story later)
Everyone knows that laying people off helps you get up to speed. It certainly doesn’t delay refinement of features, hamper testing for retention, or reduce the quality of QA and CS. Absolutely no institutional knowledge will be lost. I’m sure everything will be fine.
I know I’ve got some Labour local gov’t types following me, so I want to say this clearly so that you can share it internally as appropriate: I will never again vote Labour while these policies, or Wes Streeting, are in place. I will not vote Labour at any level because of this.
"It's a vocation!" They say as they push you into the meat grinder and turn you into sausages
I have had @jamesasser.bsky.social tell me that Streeting is not “a transphobe”.
The words of James Baldwin come to mind about the Labour Party RN.
“I can’t believe what you say because I see what you do.”
So they're taking these dangerous puberty blockers away from cis kids w/precocious puberty, right?
Right?
truly i dont know how the UK functions when every singular piece of news and legislation there is like "we banned pornography. you have to pay 1000 dollars to have your face in a national database. we're making it illegal to say bad words. your healthcare is illegal. its illegal not to be racist."
ian huntley is dead. i'll always remember how the british press attempted to incite hatred against the trans community by reporting he was transitioning, then apologised to him for incorrect reporting instead of apologising to trans people
