Hmm. They won't be a distinct contrast, but more subtle. They are contrasts on the color wheel, but similar in tone. I am working on this in a heather purple and teal, that has similar effect. Depends on what you are wanting!

I have used paperclips or scrap yarn as markers when in a pinch!

Snow baths. Hang or lay out in the cold air. I store mine folded in a plastic lidded bin during summer. After wearing, I will just lay it flat for a few days, then fold and put away. In my small mind, this gives it a chance to relax back before folding...Who knows if it's true? 🤣

I get it too. But it really makes me sad. Last summer I flew the Minnesota state flag instead. Be ause I live here, and, well, you know the rest. I just ordered a new one with the Resistance Loon on it.

I have to do this all the time, as I am long in the torso! I compare to one that fits me too! A pattern is a how to and a guide, not the law!!! 😉

Completed handknit colorwork yoke of a sweater in the making in heather purple and teal.

WIP Wednesday. I finished the yoke colorwork on the Sonrae sweater by Jenn Steingass, using Wool of the Andes sport wool in Sprinkle Heather and Baltic Heather. Now, on to short rows and split for sleeves. I love how these colors both blend and contrast...subtle. #KnitSky

I buy cute or funky buttons when I see them. I also have a wooden box and a tin that were my grandmother's. I used quite a few when knit headbands were a hot thing with my daughter and her friends!

Check out cowls or hats, then progress to sweater or mittens. Hats will teach you circular knitting, double pins, and decreases. They all will be needed for a sweater. If your hat is wonky, it's easier to rip out to start again as you learn. Advice from experience here!!

Being normal is way overrated. So I have heard, I wouldn't know myself.

A small lap blanket might be appreciated as she recovers. I did a mitered square baby blanket that didn't take too long. After the first square, I picked up stitches to start subsequent squares, so no sewing together at the end.
