For decades I heard this story in Christian Zionist circles that there was a major earthquake on the day Israel was founding in 1948, and that it maybe even unearthed ruins of Noah's Ark.
Has anybody else heard this story?? I looked on Wikipedia, the only earthquake that day was a 7.1 in Alaska.

I spent the last like two hours watching clips of The Voice and some Visual-kei singers I love, and while it was technically a waste of time, I got to laugh and cry and experience joy for a moment, and really music is what keeps me alive in so many ways. So I'll take that little respite!

When I was a kid in the 90s, I went to a Baptist school. We had a Fall Festival, and my mom showed up in pants. She was told to leave and come back with an ankle-length dress. She told THEM she was not a student and would cancel the Cakewalk she'd organized. They let her stay. THIS is who they are.
Yep. That's why trans people have been shouting from the rooftops that if you give these people the power to demonize us, they'll take it and try to control EVERYONE. Because that's all they know how to do, they can't change, they can't grow, they can only control and destroy.

But also, we warned you from a place of EXPERIENCE. We grew up being told exactly this! We suffered as non-conforming kids. Those of us who went to private Christian schools saw these rules EVERY DAY. We lived the horror you're just now seeing.
Literally they did exactly this when I was in Christian school in the 90s. Yes, given time and power, they will do this next. That's why you DON'T give religious zealots and authoritarians power.
