At the end of the day trust needs to be built somehow, and i think the side of the scale where that happens is closer towards the former, rather the middle where nothing at all happens, much less the latter.

But also, i think it's a gradient, where what you do is on one end of the scale, and the recent "show me where you pay us" behavior and everything that happened after it is on the opposite end of it.

I imagine there's also a corporate incentive to never speak about the horrors. Both for the public image reasons and to not get hit with some regulatory nonsense.

And I just want to reiterate this ( from a thread deep in replies). I started doing this work before any of these tools existed. The number of my contemporaries in the field who have died by suicide is NOT A SMALL NUMBER. The work is incredibly traumatizing.

Also would need to do maximize their impact from the car engineering perspective. Sandy Munro might suck when it comes to Tesla, but he's also right in that you don't want miles of hoses, tonnes of screws, extra boxes with stuff and so on. PHEVs tend to suffer from poor system integration.

Pair that electric range with some reminders to charge it at home, some non-clunky way of doing it and it might work.

It's also a question of practical output of this "manufacturing", which in case of AI DC's is trash, and it's also a question of how much power for how much output, which the industry keeps improving. It's just that the current use of that improvement sucks for fundamental reasons.
