The bad actors - the really "effective" transphobes - figured this out 6-10 years ago: If they say outright "I hate trans people", they get rejected. If they derail, dismiss, deny, defend in *response* to trans people begging for humanity, they are tolerated.

I wish more mainstream outlets would allow trans people to tell our stories. To clear up obvious misconceptions. Like- coming out as trans is not all that happy of an experience. It’s often a result of years of self loathing and depression. Relief? Yes. But also terrifying and isolating.
