Thanks Ed. Great idea. Especially for paintings, adding alt text is not a chore at all and sometimes provokes a discussion about techniques etc.

A portrait orientation bi-colour (cobalt teal and naphthol red) composition representing in an abstract way a flat-topped, straight-sided mound. The painting is composed of blocks of colour in three layers, with expressionist markings within each layer, and linking the blocks, and the mound, to the earth and sky.
The tallest human-made mound in Europe, constructed over 4300 years ago, lies #abandoned and enigmatic in the #Wiltshire countryside near #Avebury:

20.02.2025 21:22 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0A landscape format bi-colour composition made of blocks of magenta tones backed off with turquoise blocks, overlain with uniform width curvilinear quasi-parallel marks. Some blocks have small rectangular holes where the background shows through.
I do occasionally use #turquoise, here paired with #magenta for an abstract view of a bike race, probably the Giro (roll on May!):

A square format acrylic painting showing an abstracted view of lush vegetation in shades of green, mustard yellow, pale and bright pink, with a darker crimson framing. Dark green stripes and a modest amount of paint splatter add texture.

I was fortunate to see the exhibition of his works last year in Paris -- such a great show, and absolutely crowded when I was there.

Thanks! Yes, totally abstract. The visual brain is a wonderful and still partly mysterious thing!
12.02.2025 08:28 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Not as difficult as it looks! The loops are all done with water (and abandon:-) applied with a dropper. The trick is to remove about 2/3 of the first layer so that some of it is still showing through by the time you get to the third layer.

11.02.2025 14:34 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0A medium-sized portrait-orientated abstract painting, displayed in a white frame atop a marble fireplace. The canvas is composed mainly of crimson, with somewhat lighter tones in the upper right, along with blocks of pale olive green. Thin dark linear marks run vertically, along with thicker more diffuse curved marks in the low third.
Unsure if this surprisingly peaceful for #crimson painting is sweet enough for #SensoryArt. This is my first medium-scale artwork of 2025 in prep for a July exhibition.
