In Honduras, the El Coyol Habanero Pepper Producers Association is proving that agriculture can drive innovation and growth. Through Isidro LEAP, 146 producers are learning Water Smart Agriculture techniques, restoring soils, and building stronger businesses.

Through the Isidro LEAP project, 146 producers in El Coyol are strengthening their businesses and adopting sustainable practices that restore soil health and manage water resources wisely. These efforts are creating stronger market linkages and improving family incomes.

So when Amina Bukar was selected as a Lead Mother, she embraced the responsibility with joy. Already known as a long‑standing women’s leader in her community, Amina has always been a source of strength, advice, and hope for the women around her.

Being a Lead Mother is no small role. These women host weekly counseling sessions for other mothers, demonstrate how to prepare Tom Brown, a locally made, nutrient‑dense puree commonly given to malnourished children to support recovery and improve nutrition.

One of the most effective ways to support good nutrition for mothers and children is by partnering with trusted community leaders. In many of our project communities across Nigeria, women look to Lead Mothers for guidance and practical support.

In northern Togo, pastoralist Namguitiéne Lawane once struggled to keep his sheep alive. Through a CRS project, he learned animal care, feed-making and composting. Today, he supports his family—and shares knowledge that builds peace.

CRS continue to work with @unhcr.org to distribute the second phase of assistance and strengthen protection of refugees.

CRS & Caritas Burundi are providing urgent support to refugee families from the DRC at Busuma camp. More than 3,600 families received nutrition assistance & hygiene kits to prevent child malnutrition and improve hygiene.
