Getting long covid will make it much harder to do organizing or mutual aid work. If you want to preserve your ability to help, wear an n95 when you share air.

It's not very helpful to send Covid cautious folks links to coffee shops, travel, and indoor restaurants with a message that says "old you would love this." We know those places exist.

A better idea? Share activities that include airborne precautions - they do exist!

This is Gavin Newsom introducing and attempting to mainstream the idea that adults should also not be allowed to transition.

That he, and people like him, should have the right to dictate whether we receive medical care, or are denied it.

And you ask why we'll oppose him to our dying breaths?

If people who only masked/isolated in 2020/2021 thought their mental health struggles were bad, imagining the impact of continuing to isolate to protect your health.

This is respectability politics. And self-bigotry. First of all, she's spreading misinformation. but the bigots above us have never needed a Bad Trans to justify violence. They just invent one everyday

our liberation isn't based on all of us acting right; that's fascist logic

Ring is first and foremost a scheme to charge Amazon customers to deter crime that costs Amazon (not the customers themselves) billions annually in refunds, returns, double shipping, and customer service overhead.

My Mom died of cancer at the same age as James Van Der Beek.

My life was forever changed.

The grief of losing a parent that young is unimaginable.

We didn’t have to fundraise. We didn’t have to worry about losing our home.

Why? Universal Healthcare.

Without it my family would have been bankrupt

as a lupus patient who relies on hydroxychloroquine, the stigma on these medications has been and continues to be terrible for those of us who rely on them. so unfortunate, unnecessary.

This is the aftermath of an ICE kidnapping a few blocks from my home in St. Paul—an hour ago. A quiet street full of broken glass and at least three wrecked cars. The target of the kidnapping was taken away by ambulance. He was on a stretcher and covered by a sheet, though a cop said he was alive.

A vibrant, wide-angle photo of a colorful outdoor mural promoting the "Super Bowl LX Apple Music Halftime Show." The mural is painted on a long blue wall in a sunlit, tropical setting with real palm trees and bright pink bougainvillea flowers cascading over the top.

The artwork features a playful, surreal collage of cultural and football-themed elements:

Central Text: The Apple Music logo in bold yellow and red 3D lettering is flanked by "SUPER BOWL LX" above and "HALFTIME SHOW" below.

Iconic Imagery: Large illustrations of a golden trumpet, pink sunglasses, maracas, dominoes, and a cup of coffee with a musical note in the foam.

Football Elements: Brown footballs are depicted growing on palm trees like coconuts and resting on the ground.

Foreground: A young girl in a yellow dress walks along the sidewalk in front of the mural, passing a small goalpost illustration where a green parrot is perched.

The overall aesthetic is warm, festive, and celebrates a fusion of Latin-inspired culture and American football.

I'm going to do a thread of all the references and context behind Bad Bunny's performance and what it means for Puerto Ricans to see this on the biggest stage.

The opening title screen is a street mural in Puerto Rico that comes to life with footballs as coconuts.

Follow along!

Are we ready to acknowledge the virus known for causing cardiovascular and respiratory damage never went away?

One of the reasons I am *begging* everyone to stop using “Minneapolis” as a synecdoche for the entire Twin Cities metro area is that leads to inaccurate reporting like this. These are Minnesota State Police, who are under the command of Tim Walz, and this is not happening in Minneapolis.

You may have heard
that the astronauts
preparing to go to space
wear N95 masks
to protect themselves,
which just goes to show
that protecting yourself
from transmissible viruses
isn’t rocket science.

Homelessness is a policy choice.

Suffering is a policy choice.

Everyone deserves a safe place to lay their head, food on their table and healthcare.

When basic needs are met health and happiness improve.

We could easily provide for everyone… those in power don’t want to.

I like when the show about ethics brings attention to the most effective way to combat poverty: just directly giving money to the poor

study after study has show that programs like UBI and other social welfare systems, given w/o means testing, is the most effective way to raise them from poverty

I generally place blame for people not masking in crowded indoor spaces at the systems & gov't level, but make a notable exception for healthcare providers & long Covid researchers.

We are in year 7 of a pandemic. Please listen to patients & do better

I tried to talk to my inlaws after trump got re-elected that they need to start masking because there are massive amounts of airborne illnesses both already here and on the horizon. They never responded to me and told my wife that she needed to seek therapy
