I’ll never forget those young people from Bucha.

For them, I’m carrying a message which I’ll leave at the Russian border: “Stop the war and stop killing innocent civilians.

They were kind enough to take me along and share what it’s like to grow up in a war. One of the boys told me that soldiers had killed his uncle and aunt. When I asked him how he coped with that, he said, "It’s our daily life."

For a documentary, I’m cycling from Schengen to the Russian border near Kaliningrad. I’ll cross old borders of East Germany. My journey ends at the Russian border, where democracy ends. In Schengen, I met a group of teenagers from Bucha where, in 2022, people were brutally massacred.

A Turkish court has sentenced Swedish journalist Joakim Medin to a suspended prison sentence for “insulting the President”, his Turkish legal team said.

Medin remains in custody due to terrorism-related charges which rights groups have criticized.
