Sad news. Many happy memories of shooting the scientific breeze with Jeff over the years. From visits to Brum, European N-Cycle meetings and more. Forthright, funny, idiosyncratic & a great microbiologist. He gave me a jar of homemade marmalade once - at a conference in Spain 🤷♂️
The #aurora over #southwold last night
As a mark of respect to our friends at RS, our station, along with stations across the country, will lower our flag to half mast to mark the day of Adrian’s funeral.
Our thoughts are with Adrian’s wife, his young daughter, his family, friends, colleagues, and all those affected by this tragedy.
His loss is felt deeply by the global search & rescue community, and we stand united with our colleagues at RS in mourning him. Adrian’s death is a sobering reminder of the inherent risks faced by those who dedicate their lives to saving others.
